@Thermikus Some people just instantly become vile once they log onto youtube. In real life, they're a mixture between mummyboy's... soft as fuck pussy's... or just general faggots.
But because they know they are safe behind a screen, and no-one knows who they are... They feel it is acceptable to unleash this aggressive side.
It is NEVER acceptable to unleash negative emotions, but the immature little fucks wouldn't know that... =)
Hey Justin could you possibly upload a lesson on polychords? I've been reading through the guitar grimoire by adam kadmon and I've tried looking everywhere online for a good explanation of polychords as it tries to talk about in the book, but I havent found anything close to decent in explaining them.
bass note is the root note of the chord.. haha.. for example for G chord the bass note will be the 6th string ( counted from below) on the 3rd fret.. haha.. and for C will be 5th string on the 3rd fret.. hope it helps :)
@iceymanjack a slash chord is for example : D/C(the one described here). The name comes from the way you write it in the score using a slash"/". on the right side of the slash is the chord symbol- D(D F# A) and on the right is the bass note "c" in this case
Si tu veux, je t'écris ce qu'il dit dans la leçon. Fais moi signe. Mais si jamais, il explique en gros que quand tu joues un accord, tu peux le jouer en y ajoutant une note de basse (mais en général tu t'en fous puisque le bassiste la joue pour toi).
It should probably be better off called Slashed Chords....not for the sake of confusion or for Saul Hudson.....(( would have been better if he named the vid that way although people have stated some useful things about GNR after someone confused this vid with GNR which i gladly read and learned about thanks to your comments))....uhrm....it just sounds more correct to be called "Slashed"
if the main topic are slash chords (as they are called) then the title is not wrong....
i dont want to say that the expression of "slash chord" is basic knowledge, but before you start complaining about guys video titles, you really should think about if its your weak brain or actually a video title which is confusing you!
Damn i thought this was talking about Slash from GNR....i think he made this style of chords.....reply to this comment so i can read what you have to say if this is wrong....any tips on pedals or GNR wouldnt hurt =D
Many thanks! I've been playing for a while and never really understood what the slash chords meant, so I just decided to pick one or used my ears to create some whaky chord- very educational!
this is actually a pretty cool, clear informative lesson which could be really useful for composing, speaking of D-chord slash chords, red hot chilli peppers uses a variation in the song My Friends. funny thing is from 3:45,i recognize as from vertical horizon's song - grey sky morning, which i was just tabbing today, with notes which are anoyingly hard to identify by ear.
Oh come on the slash means "/" not for Slash the guitarist quit with that bullshit! Not bashing on Slash or anything but I HIGHLY doubt he was the one who made them popular. People try to credit these icons with everything!
@arsguitarrica No, it's that it said "Slash" and there's a guy named slash, and most people dont xare what "/" chords are so they're like "Oh, it's Slash's Chords"
@arsguitarrica I must admit I got confused and thought it meant Slash(guitarist) not slash(/) cos I had just been watching a video on Slash playing one of the solos from Estranged and this vid was in the list, it's a great video, but clearly not Slash related :)
@SabbraCadabra Huh my comment didn't seem too racy, I didn't call him names or anything. Is it not the truth? Why did he have to comment that when he had no idea what he was talking about? Slash chords have been around for hundreds of years...
first dude doing a guitar tute or interview that dosnt act like a complete douche, awsome man (Y) very easy to understand and u didnt act like a dick.
I tell you what justin should be teaching is how to make make pedal tones like the sweet child o mine intro, papa roach-last resort, slayer's - spill the blood.
if you can make your own your famous,
otherwise this is a really good ideo on slash chords.
it is obvious you have very little knowledge of what a pedal tone is,which apparently has nothing to do with pedals.you are right it has nothing to do with slash the player but i stated he used it n the song nightttrain during the chorus,to simulate a locomotive like sound, the intro riff to sweet childomine is a pedal tone because you pedal tone of the D E G notes while others remain constant,i noticed it uses eight notes with the first note changing between the D E G and seven constant
Duh,noobs havn't you been studying slash(saul hudson) or just playing his riffs, the chorus riffs in gunsnroses nightrain makes use of an aminor/C slash chord.
this is great for rock guitar because played in aminor/C sounds like a locomotive chugging, for real! try it.
Rolandomorando: I'm sure you can't speak English stupid, because there is such language All you punk's who like to post 4 letter words and use these comment boards like they are bathroom walls are ruining the free things in life that someone like Justin does for free...
Very good lesson. It shows what is possible on Guitar. Also it is a lesson about music. The "wandering" base note, a-minor, G bass, F bass is intro of Baby I m gonna leave You, by Led Zeppelin.
I didn't realise it was that simple. I've often seen the D F sharp thingy in tabs and thought it meant u could play the D or F sharp chord but the F sharp didn't sound right lol.
I really appreciate that you take the time to slow all of your fingering and hand movement down to drive home your points. Its refreshing compared to the majority of other guitar teachers out there.
dude... shouldn't throw stones... all 211 of your youtube hits don't make you a musician and furthermore.. you're not that good.
