I've been reading through the guitar grimoire by adam kadmon and I've tried looking everywhere online for a good explanation of polychords as it tries to talk about in the book, but I havent found anything close to decent in explaining them.

bass note is the root note of the chord.. haha.. for example for G chord the bass note will be the 6th string ( counted from below) on the 3rd fret.. haha.. and for C will be 5th string on the 3rd fret.. hope it helps :)

@iceymanjack a slash chord is for example : D/C(the one described here).The name comes from the way you write it in the score using a slash"/". on the right side of the slash is the chord symbol- D(D F# A) and on the right is the bass note "c" in this case

this is actually a pretty cool,clear informative lesson which could be really useful for composing,speaking of D-chord slash chords,red hot chilli peppers uses a variation in the song My Friends. funny thing is from 3:45,i recognize as from vertical horizon's song - grey sky morning,which i was just tabbing today,with notes which are anoyingly hard to identify by ear.

it is obvious you have very little knowledge of what a pedal tone is,which apparently has nothing to do with pedals.you are right it has nothing to do with slash the player but i stated he used it n the song nightttrain during the chorus,to simulate a locomotive like sound,the intro riff to sweet childomine is a pedal tone because you pedal tone of the D E G notes while others remain constant,i noticed it uses eight notes with the first note changing between the D E G and seven constant

I'm pretty sure that his guitar is in tune. It's just that slash chords typically sound a bit dissonant, especially when the bass of the chord isn't a third or a fifth. (Like the Db/C at 2:21.)
