I think Square should remake Final Fantasy 6 in this kind of style for the 3DS. And it would be nice if they gave Kefka his older style from the SNES version as opposed to that cheesy clown one he wears now. Just sayin'

Yeah, this could have been a really good game had they not resurrected all the dead characters before the final boss, that really just lessened the impact of the story for me. YOU DON'T DO THAT.

I love how amazing the games Square Enix makes are. Amazing music, graphics, and characters (at least for the most part).... They never fail to inspire me. Square Enix is the reason I want to become a video game designer when I get older.
I'm *almost* tempted to get another (3rd) DS for this game, but I know I shouldn't because I despise that console. But this game looks mindblowingly amazing. Here's hoping it'll be on the iPhone someday! I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

This was definitely my favorite of the Final Fantasy games. Your guy was an actual man - not an androgynous pop singer - and you gathered a group of likable companions to fight a villainous evil and the story actually all more or less made sense and didn't peter out ten hours before the ending.

Upon their release; I've played and still own every (real) Final Fantasy and love them; albeit don't like where they're going lately. However, graphics are a big part of Final Fantasies and will forever be. Remember using your first summon on the Playstation console? That sure was intense.

@roxasfruit The Highwind is an airship. Cloud dresses up like a girl. Materia are the crystals of the game (not to mention the four large materia being the game's stand in for the four elemental crystals). They have similar elements, so what? You can still have an amazing game that's awesome to play even if it has something from the other games.

I would like to see one of the future Final Fantasy games return to this wonderful style of fantasy. The whole science fiction/fantasy is neat (some locations in XIII are beautiful to look at and look like they could come from a fantasy setting) but I miss Knights and Wizards and castles with kings and spoony bards. XII and IX had this fantasy element, but ever since VII the flavor has been lost some. I'd love to see a return to the old stuff.
@roxasfruit Materia is fun too, but it's also very similar to the Esper system of VI. I'm just saying, I'd like a return to the older games sometime in the future, it would be nice compared to all the futuristic stuff of late.
@LMCC03 That last song is the main Final Fantasy theme of the bulk of the series. You hear it in about every game (often times in the end credits). My favorite mix of it is actually the one in the opening of Final Fantasy XII.
Ahaha, because you haven't understood the meaning of FF. When it first was created, it was hillarious, everyone played and loved it. Since then, they only changed the characters and all the games have relation with the 1st :P

I've just beaten Cagnazzo with all my characters at level 18, they were all dead, exept Cecil. I was ready to loose, to do levelling on them, but i continue to hit the boss with cecil, 200 damages at each turn, that's crap. One more hit and Cecil was Off. Last attack for me, the boss is dead. Sometimes luck happen.
They really shouldn't. The game's been done to death, and really, nostalgia aside, it's not that memorable a plot, and the characters aren't that well done. To measure up to more recent things, drastic changes would need to be made, and if Advent Children proved anything it's that Final Fantasy VII + Drastic Changes = SAD TIMES.
I think if they did it like crisis core but on a bigger scale with a battle system like kingdom hearts then it would be great, I agree with you on advent children but, if you dont think think its a memorable plot what do you think is better?
I don't know, that new guy doesn't appeal to me. FF has been losing it's classic magical feeling to me as the series go on. The music hasn't been as gripping to me either. I don't need some of the electrical spin-offs of the originals. The new stuff seems more like anime to me than before.
only if you don't know how to use him he's very helpfull early on to level up rydia who is alot weaker than cecil he can heal you confuse enemies and sleep them very usefull before you get strong weapons and magic later on.
I'm seriously glad they didn't use the cutscenes from the PS1 port. That was the only version of Final Fantasy 4 I owned before this one, but the cutscenes screamed "WE AREN'T TRYING," on the part of Square.

Not quite. Time moves slower in the Feymarch, so that even though Rydia spends many years there, only days have passed in the other world.
It's not completely clear in the game exactly how time moves differently, but it becomes pretty obvious in The After Years when Rydia apologises for taking so long, when she'd only stepped into the portal a few seconds ago.
well ive played the game and i have defeated it with no problem but when Rydia was taken to the land of the summons she was there for yes only days in the Outer World but where she was at years were passing for her . I guess because its only for her and the creatures that reside there because she is a summoner and the other creatures are summonings as well Its hard to explain it yes but its understandable when you put it in theses contexts.
Time moves faster in the Feymarch, so while Cecil and his allies were separated from Rydia for only a short period of time, years went past in the Feymarch, and Rydia grew into a young woman at an accelerated rate.
Though I don't remember the original exactly, I'm pretty certain that's not how it works; look at my above example. There's no proof that it works your way, but it is suggested my way.
Great graphics....But man, this music sounded horrible... I mean, maybe I would enjoy it more if it didn't sound so video-gamey...like if the music sounded more clear like they were using real instruments.

I've just beaten Cagnazzo with all my characters at level 18, they were all dead, exept Cecil. I was ready to loose, to do levelling on them, but i continue to hit the boss with cecil, 200 damages at each turn, that's crap. One more hit and Cecil was Off. Last attack for me, the boss is dead. Sometimes luck happen.

They really shouldn't. The game's been done to death, and really, nostalgia aside, it's not that memorable a plot, and the characters aren't that well done. To measure up to more recent things, drastic changes would need to be made, and if Advent Children proved anything it's that Final Fantasy VII + Drastic Changes = SAD TIMES.

I think if they did it like crisis core but on a bigger scale with a battle system like kingdom hearts then it would be great, I agree with you on advent children but, if you dont think think its a memorable plot what do you think is better?

I don't know, that new guy doesn't appeal to me. FF has been losing it's classic magical feeling to me as the series go on. The music hasn't been as gripping to me either. I don't need some of the electrical spin-offs of the originals. The new stuff seems more like anime to me than before.

only if you don't know how to use him he's very helpfull early on to level up rydia who is alot weaker than cecil he can heal you confuse enemies and sleep them very usefull before you get strong weapons and magic later on.

I'm seriously glad they didn't use the cutscenes from the PS1 port. That was the only version of Final Fantasy 4 I owned before this one, but the cutscenes screamed "WE AREN'T TRYING," on the part of Square.

she was 10 in the begining of the story but she was then taken away to the land of summons and everyting there goes faster so she aged and became a woman within a few days because of the aging process.

Not quite. Time moves slower in the Feymarch, so that even though Rydia spends many years there, only days have passed in the other world.
It's not completely clear in the game exactly how time moves differently, but it becomes pretty obvious in The After Years when Rydia apologises for taking so long, when she'd only stepped into the portal a few seconds ago.

well ive played the game and i have defeated it with no problem but when Rydia was taken to the land of the summons she was there for yes only days in the Outer World but where she was at years were passing for her . I guess because its only for her and the creatures that reside there because she is a summoner and the other creatures are summonings as well Its hard to explain it yes but its understandable when you put it in theses contexts.

Time moves faster in the Feymarch, so while Cecil and his allies were separated from Rydia for only a short period of time, years went past in the Feymarch, and Rydia grew into a young woman at an accelerated rate.
