My Hair: 15 months Post Relaxer

Ok I have a? ... While transitioning for a long time, does you relaxed ends just break off that much to the point of almost having no relaxed ends. ? If this is the case is it because you didn't take care of your relaxed ends, or bc your trimming, or will the relaxed ends just fall off regardless? Lol I'm confused. I'm transitioning and I don't want to do the BC but I DON'T want my relaxed ends to fall off either. I want to retain as much length as possible.

@GetOffMyTwittur your hair wont fall off some people that decide to go natural hardly have any hair to begin with r it was just too damage . im transitioning and i still have all my relax hair , im at 11 months post . its all about caring for your hair

I get excited when i see my natural hair too.. it's not that long yet but soon! your curls are pretty defined too, especially with no product in it.

I'm sooooo happy I came across your channel. I have been growing out my relaxer/texturizer for a good 7 months now, if not more, and have been having the hardest time in dealing with the two varying textures. I thought I was the only one going through this, while all the other naturals out there are doing the big chop. It's refreshing to meet someone who did the same thing that I'm trying to achieve. I'm on my 8th month right now, and have yarn braids installed. I'm trying to reach 14 months and I'm gonna cut in June or July....I'm hoping my hair would be long and thick enough by then for me to cut it..I'm so excited! Your videos really inspire me.

You go girl...stand your ground. I have been transitioning for a little over 14 months myself and EVERYONE and my Mama is pressuring me to cut ALL my permed hair off. I did like you somewhat,  I cut the relaxed in the back of my head, but I still have a lot of relaxed ends at the top. CUT It when u ready..God Bless!

I am so excited for you!! Beautiful growth. I'm 8 months in and I was just marveling at my growth and I hopped on YT to check out other long term-ers and I saw your video. Great job and when you're ready to cut, you'll know it. Not everybody is ready for a BC... I know I'm not! LOL

Wonderful hair growth. I love how you do your own thing and don't allow others to pressure you to cut your hair before you want to. I am just the same, I plan on transitioning and documenting my journey until I feel I am ready to move to the next level. I heart ya too:-)

There has been a lot of pressuring lately but I feel that if I'm going to cut my hair, its going to be because I want to and not because others want that for me.

i just bced and am new to this whole natural thing. i was wondering what is the point of keeping ur relaxed ends. does it make ur hair grow faster or something. You whole head is pretty much natural . unlike me if you cut ur relaxed hair off it wouldnt be as drastic as my bc. Anyways love the vids just curious. trying to find out what to do with natural hair.

It doesn't make your hair grow faster, its just a personal decision that each individual has their own reasons for making. Some women don't feel comfortable with shorter hair, feel attached to their hair, some like the length the relaxed ends add to their hair styles, some just aren't in a rush to get the process over with, etc. It just depends on each person and their preferences. All of us have the same goal to be natural in the end, I don't think it matters how you get there.

you should keep transitioning because your not having problems with styling and stuff so you can go far and keep going until you get frustrated. i hope i can transition this long but i just restarted

Well I have been having just a little trouble styling it, but that's because of the water in my area. It doesn't react well with my hair and dries it out so that gets frustrating at times. Thanks for leaving the comment encouraging me to keep going. So many people are always telling me to cut it so its nice to hear someone pushing me for once. Thanks, I appreciate it. = ]

What is your transitioning goal? Your hair would look awesome if you cut it now. it is at a great length. I think 15 months is around the time I may cut! I may go for 18.

@ahsenerb27 @UtubeHairCare I haven't set a date for cutting off my relaxed ends and I don't really have a goal either. I don't want to place any limits or expectations on my hair. I'm just letting it do its own thing until it gives me some kind of sign that its time...

I haven't watched very many of your earlier vids, but I was wondering if you planned on chopping your relaxed ends at some point or if you're gonna just let them grow out as they please....either way your hair looks healthy and the amount of progress you've had in 15 months is great...good job!! :D
