  • i uploaded a video of mine doing the same thing, its amazing to see in hd

  • TheExoticFish . com

  • nice

  • that is ecactly what our angel fish did but, then the babies eventually died... :(

  • can a single angelfish live in a 29 gallon

    (30,12,18)its entire life??

  • yea 2-3 can =] they max 4 inches lol

  • Actually get 10 inches tall and the tank would have to be at least 15 inches tall. so you could have about 2 - 3 angelfish, best 2, as long as you have a tall enough tank. The general rule for angelfish is 1 angelfish per 10 gallons

  • 12 in heights is not enough..... at least 50 cm heigh. get a tank with 100x50x50. that would be much better.

  • Did the eggs hatch, my angels laid last week on the filter tube but eat them straight away.

  • hehe i got tank seperator ready just incase they eat it :)

  • They look like the one we've got (I have 3).

  • I now trying on my second batch of juvenile angels to grow them up.First batch i bought died for some reason. This one i bought trying to raise them to adults to breed them. This time got eight fish in my 3ft tank.

  • you don't want to put any fish in a tank that's only a few days old, especially babies, so set up a fry tank if you have a few weeks to do it. otherwise move the parents.

    check aquahobby for more info.

  • My angelfish are spawning there eggs right now, cept its not on the heater their spawning on the filter, its so cool i saw it this morning!

  • I have watched my angel fish do this 3 times but they always eat the babies...

  • Most definitely.

They need to be separated from the parents or be in a habitat where they can hide.

  • wild caught fish will actually protect the babies like other cichlids. it's the captive strains that will eat the fry/eggs. they have been bred for so long (angels have been in the hobby for 100+ years) that their instincts are lost. that's just what i've heard; i've only ever had one angel at a time in my tanks.

  • so should i prepare a back up tank to put the parents in after hatchage?

  • if you have time, i'd set up a little (10 gal)tank for they fry with a bare bottom. use water from the original tank, it will be the same chemically, and have a full compliment of beneficial bacteria.

if the tank you are keeping your angels in now is suitable for fry (no predators, a sponge filter) you should move the parents.

    {sorry, posted in the wrong place}

  • lol OR you can get a tank seperator to seperate parents from the babies.

  • thats cool

  • I'm waiting for my juvenile angelfish grow up and pair up naturally.

  • It's possible the eggs are being eaten, but I'm not sure.

  • Heres my story.. My dad left his angel fish here.. all we know what to do is feed.. angel fish is alone.. not mate.. and it lays eggs on the plants and what not every week.... then after a couple of days the eggs are gone.. why does it do that?

  • Here's the story behind this pair:

We had one angelfish amongst several other types - my wife decided to add a couple more angelfish. The original angelfish paired with one of the newer ones and started harassing the other fish. We had to move all the other fish to another tank to avoid stressing them. Shortly afterwards, this pair started spawning on a regular basis.

I moved to another state, and gave the pair to my sister. The pair still produces eggs/fry with no effort on her part.

  • this is awesome, this the first time seeing angelfish spawn. do u have any helpful tips for breeding angelfish?

  • Doesnt the female lay the eggs? then the male cums over them to fertalise them?

  • Wonderful spelling.

  • they are spawning, the mating came BEFORE this, lmao

  • good point - thanks

  • are they really mating

  • as far as I an tell, yup.
