  • My vote for the #1 weirdest video on YouTube. Nicely done.

  • WHY ARE THEY SOO WIDE? IV NEVER SEEN EM THAT WIDE THATS WHY THEY ARE NO LONGER USEFUL LIKE THE SONG SAYS

  • Did trains used to run on them?

  • @racksandrazors many years ago but today the track goes about another 200 ft passed the bridge. In my lifetime i don't remember it going anywhere there is hardly any evidence that it did, it almost looks like it was a line that was proposed but never completed or it just went to an old yard or factory that isn't there today.

  • The tracks look partially shiny it must be used once in a while

  • @racksandrazors listen to 1:12 and you will know :)

  • People sometimes mistake Railways as unused! If the rails are still shiny on the top, Do not walk them! And if there not used theyre still owned and its tresspassing1

  • That would make a wonderful hike and bike trail....... long abandoned railroads still offer a lot uses.

  • Nice, you can do some hiking and possibly even do some biking. That is if you can get away with it.

  • thanks fr sharing!

  • All that needs is a band of dedicated railway enthusiasts who will get that line working again

  • nice.......... peace full........ thanks.

  • why are these single train tracks abandoned? I use to always wonder why i never see a train go over this skinny train bridge when i was little. Its because its abandoned!? wtf Can someone explaing to me why the tracks even exist?

  • that's a good question, they just suddenly stop and i never remember them going anywhere either. I have lived here all my life and was born in 1960

If they ever did go anywhere it was way before the expressway was there.

I don't think they were ever completed. Maybe we will find out in future comments

  • @daveni2 cool, i been going to many websites trying to find information about these tracks

  • there is a track that winds through Waterloo and goes through St Jacobs as you probably know but i have no idea what the history of these tracks are, I mean it's not a great bridge but. Notice i talk about moving cars onto it, there has always been a rail yard there so i am wondering if that's all it was ever a part of, no idea, Let me know if you find something out

  • @OutlawzConnect1 Because it costs millions to take them out and even more to repair them... For one they were never finished and another they might start finishing it and using it again

  • What the reason of that bag of Italian red Wine in the middle of the railway?? That's poetry. Salento Mezzomondo wine.... in the middle of USA.

    Cheers from Italy.

  • it's actually Canada and not so much in the middle

and a very culturally diverse area. Notice the height of the bridge is in metres and not feet, subtle indications perhaps the only indication that it is not the USA

  • I apologize for my imprecision... thanks, daveni2

  • no big deal

i know in other parts of the world there are only very small usually overlooked differences from the USA to Canada, Seems that 4.5m on the bridge also that Carling beer can is a local beer to that area but even Americans wouldn't notice that, thinking it could be any local beer

  • The line that diverts from the Hamilton Sub and passes Smithville was closed and tracks pulled out because this line had many bridges that eroded into a state of disrepair. Trains were limited to 10 mph over the bridges.

Rather than spend money to rapair the bridges, CP decided to reactivate the CASO Sub from Welland to the diamond that intersects that line. However, CP laid new track on the CASO before the diamond to connect with the line that goes to the factory at its southern limit.

  • Does anyone know why the CN line behind CP's Kinnear yard which went to caledonia got abandoned in 1993?

And the CP line that branched off from the CP hamilton sub in Smithville in 2001?

  • Its ok

  • POETRY. PURE POETRY.

  • it's totally improvised

I just rambled for a long time then edited it down to something that made sense

might be a new method i have come up with

    thank you!

  • Who stores cars on it and who owned the line

  • CN owns it and there is a rail yard near there and they sometimes roll cars over on the bridge if things get backed up

there is a main CN line

Detroit/Toronto/Montreal/Quebec west to east line right near by

  • sorry it's actually owned by CP (Canadian pacific)

CN owns the one that runs south of this one through Brantford and London

  • Beautiful, just beautiful.

I feel for you; I love railroads, too.

  • i think the bridges name is 4.5. lol

  • 4.5 meters clearance lol

    no high rigs lol

  • WTF????

  • Rofl XD:::

  • wtf.....xDD stupidest video ive ever seen

  • dont you feel bad for the train track? rofl

  • no.... but did you know that the first train tracks were built about hundred years before the first train? its a fact

  • rofl XD:: train tracks made befor the train! lol what ran on the tracks? retarded fish frogs

  • LOL.... nothing, but the people who made the tracks knew theres gonna be a train chugging on it some day xD

  • Horses and mine trucks. The first tracks were made for light trucks and horses; steam locomotives would have been too heavy.

  • remember this video? rofl XD

  • @OutlawzConnect1 NO, but i like CEREAL!

  • @Troublesome92 lol ahahha, this video is better!!! i cried

  • Alot of this going on around Ontario. The CASO line from Windsor to Buffalo,The CN line that paralleled it from St.Thomas to Welland. The Buffalo and Lake Huron Railroad from Fort Erie to Stratford. The CP from Guelph to Goderich. All of these are mere roadbed only now! How long before those tracks in your video disappear?!

  • @bmet47 Part of the CASO line through Niagra Falls is now a bike path & part of it was trashed by the casino. Now GO is running trains to Niagra Falls, they could have used the line for light rail like the O-Train in Ottawa.

  • to be honest i would never ever would wanna rip up any tracks.. id just leave them.. id try to use them for sum purpose.. idk.. i just like the fact that there is something there and interesting:D

as a lil boy id follow the tracks in mineral wells texas.. but in 1998 i think they ripped up all the tracks:(

that was a sad day for me

  • @johnboyd7 It's very short sighted to rip up track, a lot of places are paying a big price for trashing so much infrastructure. It's bad for our environment & our economy.

  • GRAFFITI????

  • That was really nice.

  • you can track the line on google maps

  • its the line that goes up to St jacups

  • no

that's the one that leaves the Waterloo park area not sure where this one went but it ends about 50 yards from where i was making this vid

  • That's the old Wingham Sub that CN used to run.

  • Thanks for sharing this historic video. Congratulations!

  • Where is this old rail line and how long is it?

  • It's In Kitchener Ontario Canada

If you are local I haven't checked your profile, it runs from the main Via Rail Line to the north and crosses Wellington St and kind of vanishes in the bushes and becomes a waling trail, I'm not sure how far it goes actually. I meant to follow it but I have moved from the neighbourhood since

    Thanks for watching!

  • *walking trail

I noticed in your profile you are not local so I guess you don't know where wellington st or maybe even kitchener is. It's about 60 miles west of Toronto. If you were to cross into Canada at Niagara/buffalo it's about 90 miles to the north/west.

  • @DavidandI2

Why not just sell the railroad tracks. Hey they are abandon right no longer part of government property anymore.

  • I've never felt bad for train tracks before.

    --Tammy

P.S. Eat mores are really good, except when it is -25 out.

  • Nice poetry.

  • haha

    totally improvised

check my "baby walnut tree" one

    that's improvised as well

and you can follow it in "more info"
