Anyone know what Dragon that was at the beginning that was killing a virage? Let's think how awesome these guys were. They had like one person per super virage killing them, when we had 3...
This is such an epic and beautiful video, it's stayed with me forever...I was so traumatized by Belzac's sacrifice. The kind of pain he endured and he refused to give up because he loved her so...I wish that Shirley could have left and survived like he wanted. I can't imagine how hellish it would be to watch your friends and lover die. Rose didn't seem to actually fight much here.
Sidenote: Man most of this voice acting is worse than I remember. Zieg and Rose are pretty terrible here =/

Yeah... And maybe there were more than those few dragoons... since there were more dragons back then, >>'' You know? And maybe highten the battle options and attacking styles... Maybe take the spirit of some other kind of some other kind of creatures and maybe have more than one form or like each dragoon can share eachothers armors with a certain level of friendship or something... by like battling together enough,,, And maybe also have a dragoon campaing online too to keep the dream alive~
Am I the only one who LOVES Melbu Frahma's character design? The villains in this game were just as fantastic as the heroes. Lloyd and Rose especially, since they're kind of both at once. They both kill innocent people, but only because they're forced to by circumstances beyond their control. You hate Melbu even more when you find out that he used Lloyd's desire to eliminate hatred and violence to trick him into hurting innocent people.
Something tells me that Shirley and Zieg are the first two Dragoons and Rose was trained by Zieg as a Dragoon. You can tell, because she seems less confident of herself than later on. Shirley is who recruited most of the Dragoons.
Best part of the game, period. I've wished since I was around 10 and first played this game that I could see first hand more of the dragon campaign. The narrative cut scenes were breathtaking, defiantly the best of their time.
The way I see it it's easily tied with FVIII and FVII (FVIII just a little better imo) for the top spot of PS1 rpgs. Either-way those three rpgs ARE my childhood.
ikr. they dont explain how or when or where the other dragoons died exactly. they never even show some of the old crew in fmv sequences! maabey as little winged blips flying with rose and the rest in roses memory, but who can tell, unless you have eagle vision..
I have beaten this game at least four times. That was years ago I really miss playing it. A prequeal is a must. For its time it did have the greatest graphics and story line. I feel that it would still be a great movie they should make it like avatar.

This is by the one of the greatest cut scenes in RPG History. the action is intense, the music is awesome, the emotion at the end is sad. everytime i see this video it gives me goosebumps(And i mean every time)
This is probably by far the best game i have ever played. It had pretty good graphics, still does even now. But the storyline and the character building (like plot wise) was just phenominal... ive played this games so many times over (i think i know everything that they will say now) and it just gets better and better each time i play it. It just draws you in... it makes you love it haha
i've beated this game at least 10 times and it never gets boring :D
i also have ff7 and 8 and i can say that i havent play ff7 in like 6 years and 8 in like 3 years everytime i try to replay those games i get bored in a few minutes after i've started those xD
but with LOD that doesnt happen and i always end up finishing it lol

My favorite scene of Roses' Memory was when Shirley and Belzac are under the collapsing building, and Shirley gets up to see Belzac is impaled by the Virage's Claw, clearly doing it to save Shirley's life which he loves. Shirley, instead of fleeing decides to stay and be with Belzac... "You're death won't be in vain!" I love it!
I remember that I made a separate save file on the ghost ship right before this video so I can watch it over and over again. Thanks uploader. Im replaying this game now because of these videos.
i wish they can make the graphics better and put voices too you know its sometimes rare to hear other characters talk and when they attack and fight doesnt count

Bad luck, I presume. A little while after I posted, I compared the three other discs to disc 2, and they all the superficial, wear-and-tear scratches a CD/DVD usually gets. Sometimes I think my PS2 just hates me. =_=
hehehe those dragoons died with pain, hatred, sorrow, and their souls cannot rest in peace, that is why they re-appeared waiting for someone who can send them to sleep forever...
This game was and ARE one extraordinary game, excelent trama, story, gameplay, FMV graphics... a game that easily matches with a Final Fantasy game, I have my original copy and I treasure because was the firt game I bought for PS One, and it saddens me that it not will be a second part or at least a remake... and Rose, is a great character, she has everlasting like thanks to the necklace, Zieg has inside him Melbu Frahma
im sorry, but you guys were buggin me saying that being a dfragoon makkes you live forever. where the heck did you get that crap? ever think of why shirley died? she obviously didnt die in the dragon campaign cuz wer told about the 4 that did. she died afterwards. also IT EXPLAINS why rose and zieg are still alive and its got nothing to do with them being immortal! if rose would already live forever, then why did charlie have to make the choker?! geez people... things that are clearly laid out..
in all honesty, whether or not she does, the idea of them being immortal is still preposterous. how come zieg looks old in the ending video? why did rose need to get the choker to live longer? end of story. its not even worth arguing about further.
@syuveil316 she does die, they are not immortal, zieg looks old in the ending video because it is said when they are in Vellweb, that after his petrification curse was over he brought on to live the life of a normal person and had Dart, with Claire haschels daughter, so with that you can easily add 18 years to Zieg assuming he is at least 20 (damia was 15 and the youngest so hes older then 16) thats why hes old. the chocker was so that she can kill the moon child every 108 years. yup lol
@syuveil316 ..yeah it is worth.. zieg was possessed for..how many years? by melbu frama like a parasite in his body to keep melbu alive. that has to tire you out and tax you - plus, dart had kicked ziegs ass(melbu frama) just prior to melbus leaving his body.
@blackshade9 Shirley did die in the FMV because Belzack was mortally wounded by the virage and decided to save shirley using his last strength while he held the falling building, but instead of fleeing Shirley decided that Belzacks death would not be in vain so she attacked the virage at point blank range to kill it for good which sacrificed her life pretty heroic :D
@blackshade9 That was pretty much it I think...the difference between Shirley and the other Dragoons that died was that she was at peace and had accepted her death. Probably because she chose hers.

@aeonflux10 what i dont get is why the wielder of the thunder dragoon at the beggining..looks like hes falling?.. and only stays up because he is hanging on to the super virage's head?.. what was that all about? im pretty sure by now he has wings. dont wings hold people up when they are attached to dragoon armor........................? and then he kills himself and the super virage or at least seriously hurts it. shoudnt he have just flown and shot the virage??
@flagy345 she is given a special choker on her neck at the end of the dragon campaign which gives her eternal life, a wingle made it for her to kill the moon child every 108 years thats why she doesnt age

they werent ahead of their time technically..FFX was already in production at the time, and those FMV segments looked extremely similar to these, obviously much smoother on the PS2 though
I don't care how bad the voice acting was this scene is great... it makes my stomach turn every time i watch it!! ...maybe cause the music with it works.
This is my favourite PS game ever... but so much more could have been done. I wish for a PS3 sequel, I'd actually foam at the mouth at all the possibilites

@8darktrunks8 none of the dragons really died who became dragoon stones, and at some point in being a dragoon stone there must be some kind of conciousness for them.. especially brief moments of lucidity when they are summoned out of thin air. we have no way to know what they feel like as dragoon stones either because we cant be them. btw whats this mp3 called.

I agree. I mean, when I first played the game, it was great. But I look back at it now, 8 years later and... yeah, great game, but the voice acting totally sucked. Oh well, maybe that didn't get paid all that much money, lol. Who knows?
Well, not all the voice actors sucked. Some of them were pretty decent, but I'm sorry, the woman who did Rose, she sucked. Woman's not American and more times than not in that game, you heard her accent moreso over her American accent mimicking. Not so much her fault, but still. As you said, at the time there wasn't a market yet for this kind of acting like there is now.
I love the game, but ive had it for a while, I got it the day it came out, and what I still don't get about this video is, Rose is using a bow, which is the White Silver Dragoons weapon, yet, she is the Darkness Dragoon and uses a sword years later when you use her.

Legend of Dragoon is easily in my top 5 PS1 games of all time. This was the best-looking, coolest video i ever saw on the PS1 and it still is impressive. Thanks for uploading it.

when you are a dragoon you don't age at all but there are still not immortal they can die during battle.

@aeonflux10 what i dont get is why the wielder of the thunder dragoon at the beggining..looks like hes falling?.. and only stays up because he is hanging on to the super virage's head?.. what was that all about? im pretty sure by now he has wings. dont wings hold people up when they are attached to dragoon armor........................? and then he kills himself and the super virage or at least seriously hurts it. shoudnt he have just flown and shot the virage??

they werent ahead of their time technically..FFX was already in production at the time, and those FMV segments looked extremely similar to these, obviously much smoother on the PS2 though

@8darktrunks8 none of the dragons really died who became dragoon stones, and at some point in being a dragoon stone there must be some kind of conciousness for them.. especially brief moments of lucidity when they are summoned out of thin air. we have no way to know what they feel like as dragoon stones either because we cant be them. btw whats this mp3 called.

It is a very good game. Talk about war though. They did a great job when they made this part. The voice acting sucks. but great game!

I agree. I mean, when I first played the game, it was great. But I look back at it now, 8 years later and... yeah, great game, but the voice acting totally sucked. Oh well, maybe that didn't get paid all that much money, lol. Who knows?

Well, not all the voice actors sucked. Some of them were pretty decent, but I'm sorry, the woman who did Rose, she sucked. Woman's not American and more times than not in that game, you heard her accent moreso over her American accent mimicking. Not so much her fault, but still. As you said, at the time there wasn't a market yet for this kind of acting like there is now.

I love the game, but ive had it for a while, I got it the day it came out, and what I still don't get about this video is, Rose is using a bow, which is the White Silver Dragoons weapon, yet, she is the Darkness Dragoon and uses a sword years later when you use her.

i rember the first time i saw this video was really sad but now looking at it again ive just realised how bad the voice acting is but still one of the best games ever no doubt especialy for the ps1

Legend of Dragoon is easily in my top 5 PS1 games of all time. This was the best-looking, coolest video i ever saw on the PS1 and it still is impressive. Thanks for uploading it.
