While I disagree with you on your opinion about AMVs (I've seen some that were very impressive and do not think all AMVs suck, but I will not hesitate to admit that footage of Naruto badly lip-synced to Linkin Park is utter testicle lint) this video was full of many things I like: valid points, intelligent argument, cluster f-bombs, and your awesome voice.

Also, that bacon made me hungry.

Okay, fine. I'll elaborate:

Once you've heard one Sparta Remix there is no reason whatsoever to listen to another one, because the only thing setting them apart is which non-sequitur audio clip you've chosen to use. It's akin to a MadLib.

And it especially doesn't help that nigh noone knows how to sync the goddamn audio to the goddamn beats right.

on a personal note, i hate sparta remixes, thats why the only one i did was named shitarta, as i knew from the start it was shit, but id always wanted to have do one...

the only real difference between sparta remixes and say, "x gets x in his x", is that they havent infected youtube as much, once they get so popular, im sure people will hate them just as much

Calm down, dude. I'll admit I kinda am one of the people this video is about, and even I'll say that this video is helpful. You have no reason to criticise him about his video, so don't. His point in making this was to help people in making better YouTube Poops, not to annoy random people, so get over yourself.

And I don't feel obligated. I enjoy making videos, this rant wasn't so much me speaking as a pooper, as me speaking as a musician and a person who enjoys good music. And on that front alone, much of the videos passing themselves off as YTPMVs fail on their face.

Jugding from many of the recently made "YTPMV"s (and abuse of the tag) this video has not nearly enough views. It's getting to the point where I have to send personal messages linking the video. The number one problem is people can't understand the difference between AMV and YTPMV. And I subscribe to the YTPMV tag so it's annoying as hell. And many poopers totally disregard and even insult me.

Eh. I am kind of ambivalent regarding igiulamam. As a pooper I recognize that he's made some potent YTPMVs, but as a musician, I'm a little irritated that the MUSIC portion still sounds like unaltered cut n' paste fruityloops.

Still I have to give him a heaping dose of credit, for having more patience than I do to individually cut up every sample of Robotnik speech and arrange them into long strands of lyrics.

Not that I disagree with your video, I do think your right on just about all of your points, but I think this is more like a rant on how to get a good YTPMV then how to do one in general.

Now that I HAVE seen it, I'd say it (Robotnik's Epic Proportions song, both Ixwaylzx's and BMATF's version.) ranks as one of the best YTPMVs in the medium.

If you're gonna make a YTPMV stick to one source. It makes the whole thing sound cheap if you're switching between two completely different sounding video clips. The worst case example I would point out is the Link123456's video that I showed in the video, which uses both Hotel Mario and Wand of Gamelon, rendering which both have completely different audio qualities.

I just think it sounds amateur to mix sources in a YTPMV anyway.

I know that AMV means Anime Music Video, but there are so many videos out there labelled "AMV" that don't have Anime as backing footage that you might as well extend the term "AMV" to include damn-dirty-Amerikanner cartoons as well. (Hell, people already do that as it is.)

Ah, the infamous sparta remix. It's also the most viewed video on my page, and I hate it mine so.

I agreed with a lot of your points there, and I recently got a FL Studio torrent, and I happen to not know what the fuck I'm doing. But then again, when I first got Vegas I didn't know what the fuck I was doing as well, so my advice would be to maybe make a couple test songs before you release your first YTPMV.
