p.s. Alot of our chestnuts had come from over-seas, due to them almost being wiped out many years ago in the U.S.

They are seasonal. Probably why we only talk about them this time of year.

I had my first roasted chestnut last year. It was mushy and gross. :P  My town has an old-fashioned Dickens festival for Christmas and they sell them there.

Thanks for the wonderful Christmas Wish! I grew up on Chestnut St. and there was a big Chestnut down the street. We would gather them every year and make things like necklaces out of them. I have also roasted them several times to use in stuffing. Wishing you all the best this holiday season!
