@iLOVETATTGURL I just cut out the shapes I needed from cardboard. Then I resined, fiberglassed, bondoed, etc. I don't buy any of my props. In fact I try to build things as much as possible without buying anything.
@xXBocephusXx Can´t you make a Video on how to make such nice helmets from cardboards? Would be perfect for us outside U.S that can not easily find such original helmets.
@ODanielMartinez You can make a helmet out of carboard and once you've got everything how you want it, you add fiberglass and bondo to it so it stays nice, solid and strong. I did mine that way and it turned out excellent. there are many helmet templates that you can print out, cut out the pieces and put them together just like a puzzle. It's actually cheaper to do this than just buying a helmet :)
@DDrake961 Well, in my case the cast(copy) is better because it's lighter than the original. But that might not always be the case. Overall though I would say a cast is better in most ways.
@Jonathondpereira I just sprayed some clear plastic I had with VHT Niteshades spray on tint which you can find at Discount auto. Then I cut it to the shape I needed it.
If I where to make a clay helmet of the T-51B Helmet then I made a mold of it, would I be able to make it hollow? Because I had a lot of trouble making a pepaurkia one.
@James0roll1 Yes, the final cast of a mold that is made from clay would be hollow if you follow these steps. The clay helmet would be like my mandalorian helmet. It is just the model.
so what is the purpose of making helmet molds??? not to be rude or anything no! am curious :) is this like a way to make more helmets ? like example u dnt have to print cut or glue to make more helmets am i correct? if am wrong please correct me cause i only know how to make helmets the original way lol pepakura , cut , fold, glue, resin, fiberglass, bondo, sand, primer, paint thats the only thing i know and this is difrent!
@naruto88uzumaki Yeah, this is the method of making exact replicas of a helmet just using the silicone to make the mold and then the plastic to cast the helmet.
Where did you get the mixing cups?

@LegoBros09 You mold a helmet so you can get plastic casts from it which are exact replicas of the original.

Now you could resin and fiberglass the outcome to make a duplicate helmet, right?
HumbleThudwigThud 7 months ago
@HumbleThudwigThud The hard cast comes from the pouring plastic into the mold once it is completely finished.

Is there an Age limit on those materials? Would I have to be over 21 to buy them?
I wish you the best of luck. And I look forward to seeing this once it's finished...
