if you jk you should also check out erik mongrain and kotaro oshio then they're also great guitarists ocean by john butler trio is also a pretty good guitar instrumental, and the wall by don alder is a pretty good instrumental check out their stuff if you want
i dont understand how music like this isn't number one in the charts ... atm some song called swagger jagger is selling loads of singles and the person is getting million and its a horrid song while this , this is true talent and skill
@moneyquickeasy Or alternatively very dedicated and hard-working, which is a justifiable reason to get laid. Either way, your putting in the same effort!
You know i think its really sad that the music industry is set out to making a quick buck with really horrible,i dont even have the heart to call em artists coz they arnt, when you have talented artists like this kid who is struggling to make it
@FlipHatesCheese nope, he doesn't upload to youtube (except for a few videos on dresmandrew's account when he was with the band) but he does have an account and comments on the vids every once in a while
Justin King uses Larrivee guitars a lot of the time, along with Taylor's. Larrivees, besides being fantastic guitars to begin with, have very slightly wider necks and string spacing which makes them superb for fingerstyle and acoustic tapping. I have a Taylor and have nearly learned this whole song over the past couple months, but it's been difficult. I tried it on a larrivee at the store and it was much easier.
@zacharyhoyt its difficult to train your ring and pinky, as the ring is controlled by the same tendon as the middle, and the pinky, well it's tiny. It's simply practise, practise and more practise.
@zacharyhoyt I find that a good way to get your hammerons a lot louder is to simply play the rest of the piece quieter and really exaggerate the dynamics.
"how does he get the sound so loud when he does the hammerons?"
hit HARD. there's no real secret to it. it takes a lot of practice, I've been working on the fingering and timing primarily and I noticed tonight that I'm hitting harder naturally. your fingers will compensate in order to pleasure the ears more, at least that's my theory ;) but it's really coming together.
How do you do that nice percussive finger sweep with your right hand?Does it begin during the three hammer ons on the sixth string? I just can't get the timing right.
@Gitbox56 get the parts for each hand down separately, then slowly, by continuously watching these vids over and over, put em together (how i learned it!)
the trick to the right hand: close your fist almost fully, just so thumb can rest on pinky nail. then drag thumb across the other nails. give it a bit more flick, and there you go. hope that helped!
@HandiAce this isn't a cover! it is Justin himself!:) and he mutes the strings with his left and strums that percussive sound (very quickly) at that part. took some time to get!
"he mutes the strings with his left and strums that percussive sound (very quickly) at that part. took some time to get!"
