Without your beard you look quite a bit like Nicolas Cage, except without the whole "talentless hack" part of it. Did you steal Nicolas Cage's talent? Which is why you have double?
My introduction to Michael's music began in 1986 in NM, where he opened for Shadowfax at a downtown Albuquerque auditorium. And in recent years, I've had a look and listen at a number of "New Edge," "Acoustic Thrash"-influenced artists, some quite impressive. But I suspect that Michael would take no greater pride in seeing his symbol anywhere other than on the arm of such a wonderful talent as you, Jon. Thanks for posting these exceptional videos.
There seem to have been a few comments comparing me and Andy in the past few days. Maybe there's a big debate going on on some forum somewhere! Personally I think we're both geniuses. Tee hee!! Seriously though, I am a huge fan of Andy's, and have been digging his playing since long before youtube existed. And we are mates in real life (in the British sense of the word "mate", I hasten to add). I'm not trying to stifle debate though, King Canute knew nothing of internet discussions... Jon
A showcase of tapping guitar techniques - for guitarists in the know, this is the real deal! It's not about speed, folks, it's about making the guitar sound like a band, and finding groove and soul.
its amazing how many sounds you make from the one instument. This is my favourite tune of yours. Also- what is it you have taped to the back of the guitar?
No it isnt just padding its a preamp because he has 5 mics inside his guitar to pick up the percussion he does. i know this because he came to my college today for a talk and he ran us through his whole setup

I wish I'd seen this live. Imagine sitting down to an open session and this guy turns up.

I would love to see you, Andy McKee and Thomas Leeb collaborate on a project together.
I'd be in Acoustic Guitar Virtuoso Heaven!

Between you, Don Ross, and Andy Mckee, I can't get enough of the acoustic sound. Makes me want to pick my old acoustic back up. XD

Michael Hedges is still the best - much more heart backed up by technique.

I much prefer Jon to Andy Makee. Andy is all about technique over substance. Jons is much more balanced.

the thing on the back of the guitar is just some packing-foam to stop his guitar from bruising his hips all the time! He really hits that thing
