  • Used to fish at Salton Sea with my neighbors back in the 70's and 80's. Loved it, but I don't eat fish, go figure. I recommend to everyone, go there and be there at dusk, the heat is stil in the air, but a cool breezr may hit, the desert is magic at this time of day.

  • Because the Salton Sea was an accident, the result of a Colorado River flood washing out the headgates of the first Imperial Valley irrigation canal, it is not a natural lake. The Salton Sink was a dry sea bed. Before the flood it last had water in it when it was connected to the Gulf of California, hundreds of years ago. The only water in it now comes from agricultural runoff and the treated sewage of the Valley towns. So keeping it clean is impossible.

  • We go there a couple times a year with our baja bugs. ITs a great interesting forgotten oasis!

  • I hope the Salton Sea can be saved; it's such an unusual place.

  • Thank you for this Documentary on the Salton Sea. I hope something can be done to perserve it. I think its a pretty special place. The birds in that area are awsome to see.
