The goal isnt the "total annihilation of the human civilization" The goal is to win the war with minimal losses.
Despite all that M.A.D talk in real life both sides are always looking for ways to win a nuclear war. With new stealth tech, anti-missile tech, laser weapons,EMP devices and so much more its becoming much more realistic to win with what would be very minimal losses compared to Coldwar days.
You also forgot that 90% of all munitions created for the cold war and WWIII are still in use, including Orbital Nuclear Distrubution Platforms.. regardless, everyone is fucked in a nuclear scenario
I find it rather easy, since it always launches all its silos at once. All you need to do is get your subs close enough before that happens and it's a (fallout) white Christmas for them!
I do enjoy, but only because of the competitiveness.
I think it's increased my appreciation of how devastating a full-scale nuclear war would be. It is oddly disquieting looking at the tallies of deaths after a game, with usually only a few million still alive. But it is just a game, and no real people are hurt.
I dont know how anyone can enjoy a game with the goal of total annihilation of the human civilization. especially then when you read the text.New York: 10 Million dead. Berlin 7 million dead...but hey! Its a game..i play ego shooter. This is just with far more virtual casualties^^
