trying to hook up my desktop to my tv, but i have a dvi output on my pc so i got a dvi to hdmi cable and hooked up that. the problem is i got audio, but no video. i went to get a mini headphone jack to rca cord and it gets audio on the video channels but not my hdmi channel.

what do i need to do to get audio on hdmi1 or hdmi2 channels

how do i speed up my video preview in after effects. I have bought a new pc a asus with a Inte Core Quad cpu and 8Gb and a new video card Geforce Gt 220 1GB DDR3 wtih 64 bit os.. Everytime I'm doing the tutorial and trying to get the project done and at the end or middles it starts slowing down. I set my project at 720 HD. I have spent money buying and getting free after effects preset and I can't even view them in Preview cause is so slow, frustrating. i use vga, would hdmi to dvi work?

@TheTdu2 Then you need to buy something called a Y adapter, its not a wire its like the HDMI-DVI adapter he showed in the video, one end has the unputs for the red and white component cables and the other end plugs into your speakers, look for one that has a 3.5 mm jack (thats the standerd size)

If you plugged a DVI into a graphics card that is HD then plugged the HDMI end into a HD TV would the picture be displayed in HD?

@gerbils99 if your graphics card has already a HDMI port, you no longer need a DVI cable or adapter. plug directly hdmi cable to the outlet.

@chale1997 dvi doesn't support sound and i had that problem forever but i figured if you take a rca to 3.5 mm cable and you connect the 3.5 mm to a cheap pair of speakers then the ps3 (sound cables red and white i believe) to the rca and voila thats what worked for me
