its called spring because it runs off the resistance of the spring, if it was gas you could pull the bolt back with no resistance, look it up.

also, I just saw you have a 6.06mm barrel. You might want to get a tightbore. Increases your FPS by ~30fps and distance by about 20 feet

Because is it not truly a gas bolt, it is just a spring bolt that houses the gas.

so i'm thinkin the about the kjw m700, or the tanaka m40. which would ou prefer? also, what upgrades would you recomend if any, because i'm hearing that gas gun tend to have a spike in fps, followed by a constant drop, making them unconsistant. is this because of the cool down process, or another reason. how would i fix this problem. i also want as high fps as possible.

gas guns are going to have spikes which is usual but making sure you have a good seal and hammer for the bolt will mean a great deal and also co2 is good for temps but costs quite a bit but use propane for 4 out of 5 mags used and one grean gas to lube it up but both are fine but all i can say bout any rifle... barrel and hop up is usually the best bet for upgrading and making best of what you have.... kjw is cheaper and i hear performs almost as well but it depends on well it was made

I would stay away from the king arms cylinder gas load and this one which comes with a G22 rifle... I would say gas is more silent and pulling a bolt can mean less movement BUT you want to use propane most of the time for better shots... I would say the m700 by kjw is fine or any of the older tanakas unless you get a powerbolt for them or know how to work on them. gas guns give you the choice of power at any time much faster than switching springs =/

This is the perfect mod i need for night games. I Have an type 96 with a night vision scope on it. It's great, BUT, the sound of the spring kinda gives you away durring both the firing process, and when you rack the bolt back. This seems a whole lot quieter. only problem is i have a utg type 96, not a maruzen type 96. will this bolt fit in the utg? sam dimensions, just not sure if the trigger catch is the same or not. thanks in advance to anyone that could help me out.

yeah dude do it i have both guns and it works fine although i would recommend a different gas rifle for any airsoft games and a different gas set up that stores the gas in a mag and not the cylinder

i used pvc pipe, duck tape, and the foam from the box that the gun came in and the the pvc when cut right fits perfect over barrel and silences the heck out of it
