I really don't see the big deal. Why not just make all video games multi-platform, especially major titles like Halo for example? This way I don't have to kill my fucking wallet buying several different consoles.

The argument over single-platform exclusives will nearly always revolve around Uncharted, Halo, Resistance and Gears. It's no secret that Microsoft are kinda whores for money (buying out Alan Wake when it was originally a PS3 exclusive and buying out earlier DLC release dates for CoD from Activision) so a multi-platform franchise from any studio was to be expected. Personally, I have no beef with any of this, and I don't recall this happening when MGS became a multi-platform game?

Resistance 3 is only on Ps3 its not on xbox because when you tilt it when a game is inside it gets scratched even the Wii is better than the xbox but doesnt reach as high as ps3

@ihatealderney well mgs4 dident seem like that long of a game but it took up the full 50 gig and it was also duel layerd and resistance was allways 50+ players and i never seen any x-box game with anywhere near that # of players. altho resistance games were allways verry good looking so that might get toned down, but yeah i was just speaking as if the game actually took up the full blu-ray disk then yes u would need 6 disks with 9 gigs each (well only useing 5 gigs on the 5th disk)
@txcampbellxt The games on the 360 would be compressed to fit the disk (mainly audio files and textures) but this would reduce the quality. If they couldn't get the compressed data to fit without making the quality too shit then I'd guess they'd use more than one disk but I'd doubt a linear FPS would use much (unless they went for ultimate stuff:D).
And as far as I know, the 360 can't support that many players (don't quote me on that) hence PS3 games such as Resistance and MAG having far more.

People on the internet are retarded he clearly says 'an Insomniac game will be multiplatform,' not Resistance3 will be multiplatform. He says several times that Resistance and R&C are owned by Sony and can't be ported without Sony's approval, but that Insomniac is independent and can make multiplatform games with new IP, which is exactly what they have said they are going to do.

It's in their best interest, they can make tons more profit. Insomniac Games will become a very powerful developer in the future. Kinda cool cuz I've loved them ever since I was in gr. 2 or 3 playing Spyro :):):) Ahhh, my favourite video game company!

BUT he speaks the truth..
Insomniac's next IP (intellectual property for some of you) will be highly likely a multiplatform game or at least on PS3 and 360. Wii won't have the power.
And this will definitely lead them to become a multiplatform developer.
Although they will develop for both systems, I think they are definitely still going to create a certain franchise of games that will be exclusive for PS3.

Resistance 3 is only on Ps3 its not on xbox because when you tilt it when a game is inside it gets scratched even the Wii is better than the xbox but doesnt reach as high as ps3

unlike the others who are fueling a console war ill say the same thing but with more sense. resistance 3 will take more out of the system than resistance 2 so it wouldnt even run on xbox very well. that being said it wont even come to the xbox kinda like halo wont come to ps3.

I doubt that a game such as Resistance would take up more than 9GB when compressed though - even an open world game (GTA IV, JC2) can fit on an XBox disc no problem and they need far more memory than a simple linear shooter.
But meh I understand you man.
I'm a neutral when it comes to consoles BTW, because I'm a PC fanboy.

@ihatealderney well mgs4 dident seem like that long of a game but it took up the full 50 gig and it was also duel layerd and resistance was allways 50+ players and i never seen any x-box game with anywhere near that # of players. altho resistance games were allways verry good looking so that might get toned down, but yeah i was just speaking as if the game actually took up the full blu-ray disk then yes u would need 6 disks with 9 gigs each (well only useing 5 gigs on the 5th disk)

@txcampbellxt The games on the 360 would be compressed to fit the disk (mainly audio files and textures) but this would reduce the quality. If they couldn't get the compressed data to fit without making the quality too shit then I'd guess they'd use more than one disk but I'd doubt a linear FPS would use much (unless they went for ultimate stuff:D).
And as far as I know, the 360 can't support that many players (don't quote me on that) hence PS3 games such as Resistance and MAG having far more.

I think that insomniac should stay loyal to Sony, due to the operating system on the ps3 is much more powerful and i think that insomniac will have a shock when they find that there creation tools are less powerful when developing for xbox, wii and other such platforms
