Mind = blown. If you performed this song, then you are indeed a wonderful pianist as well as a marvelous composer. Not many of that strain of musicians can one meet today. If you didn't perform this piece, it's still a wonderful piece.

@DrRubixMD That sort of thing rather comes with the territory, for better or worse, hence the change from duple to triple and the thickening of the chordal textures at the midway point. Plus, my left hand tends to be a little hyperactive, myself being a lefty. It was a nice opportunity to give the poor sod a break, lol! Still, glad you enjoyed.
@Yourenigma You're a lefty? Gahh I envy you right now, with a Chopin Ballade on my hands atm with some crazy left hand work.. But all in all, I do like that you keep textural interest even though you are dealing with the easily muddled parts of the Nocturne. As for it being a little hyperactive, I don't really notice it. It comes out with a great deal of emotion and paints a very beautiful picture (to go with some equally beautiful pictures)!

@Yourenigma Oh I completely understand what you are referring to now, after actually playing through Twilight's Mind. Its tricky, especially as a righty, but I always like I challenge, hehe. And as for the Ballade, yep you nailed it. I'm working on the section where the left hand has that weird chromatic run in the left hand (somewhere in the 5th or 6th page if I remember correctly) so that's what's driving me crazy right now. Gotta have it recital ready in 2 months or so, so that should be fun.
I got here through SoGreatAndPowerful's channel, and I am now really glad that I did. This is an amazing piece of music, especially love 1:50 onwards and how well it ties into the buildup of the comic being displayed. Insta-sub.

I really enjoy this. It has a very lounge piano feel to it. I can actually imagine it being possible to write a vocal part to sing on top of it circa 40's era music. I understand that wasn't really the direct intention, but hey, it fits regardless and I enjoy the song regardless of any such mangling. ^^
This is amazing! I really like it!, though I have one issue...The sound maxes near 1 minute and 45 seconds in, and crackles a bit, I don't know if that was just because it was mastered a TAD too high, or if you got a bit too...passionate...while playing... It's nothing huge though, and barely noticeable. Great job!
@atherrien95 Good ears and yes, the reason is likely the latter, lol. That is the climax of the piece and I think I let the feelings get the best of me. As an audiophile, I understand the reprehensibility of clipping, but in this case, I let it slide rather than doing an entire new take over one tenth of a second worth of distortion. Glad you still enjoyed it!

Something I would agree on if not for the fact that I'm out of practice. Other bronies, go for it! =D that being said, I like what you've done. The beginning has touches of Liszt, but the end sounds more modern-piano than classical, which I adore. I improvised with the MLP theme at the piano for a bit and from that, the musical ideas materialized and solidified. Then, I just hit record.
