@EliazarGO21 not really sprint will take back even rooted phones with custom roms, I've done that before, they are pretty cool about returns.

This app will turn on the hot spot feature but at the time you want to connect with your laptop it will say Connection Limited and it wont let you use the wifi. Just go to the android Market and pay $1.99 for Barnacle Wifi Tether and it works excellently. I have it and it works nicely i use my laptop on wifi and my itouch

i just tried watching any youtube video using this andoid tether, the videos just load and load, it never comes up. The android tether gets me on the internet but nothing is loading. Please help if u can bro.

hey zedomax, i got the tether working for 3g but 4g doesnt work and most webpages like facebook or speed test dont ever load up, it just lingers. The only pages that work is google and youtube. What do i need to download or configure to access any webpage i go to??? If u have a solution please send it my way, Thanks man

my internet connection just hangs when i try to watch videos from my laptop connected to my phone via wifi tether. I only get 3g where I live but even so it shouldn't hang it should eventually load but the videos never load. any ideas what i can do to fix this?

@ADIREM1 It shouldn't matter, try re-starting AndroidTether couple times, that should do the trick and enable HTC device support if all else fails.

Does this have decent 4G tether speeds? Wireless 4G tether always worked like shit on 4G so I always found it pointless to use since I would rather just use sprint hot spot instead on 3G.

I have root I have your wifi tether from your site. It says connected on my laptop and 3D EVO but only

google page loads. Also tried the 3.1 beta version same thing sucks so close yet so far.

After ensuring I have root, I open the Wireless Tether downloaded from your link. I don't get any errors in WT, allow SU permission, but nothing will connect to the network created by WT. I do have Routing Fix checked. I've tried several different methods of obtaining root and using wifi tethering, including root+Barnacle. Anyone have any suggestions?

@zedomax Thanks for the fast reply! I've restarted both the phone and the computers several times to no avail. It seems to only be my Win 7 x64 devices that can't connect. Every time it doesn't connect, and states "Connection Unsuccessful" on the computer that's trying to connect. I've used both the EVO 4G and Desire (CDMA) profiles in the Wireless Tether settings.

@shaydin12 That is weird, I would say try uninstalling wifi tether app and try installing again as last resort.

@zedomax Yeah, it's been like this with every method I;ve tried. Performed a few uninstall/reinstalls of Wifi Tether and Barnacle. Finally got a method that works, however, it wasn't this one.  Not to bash your method, since it looks like it's working for a lot of others, but the only thing I can get going is the Free 3vo Wifi Tether script over at PPCGeeks.

I got it to tether. But it only seems to allow traffic to Google.com, or gmail, etc. Most other sites will not load. The browser just keeps spinning. I suspect something is coming through, but at extremely slow speed, thus the browser is not timing out. I tried sites like yahoo.com, cnn.com, nytimes.com... none are rendering in the browser.

Any thought?

I followed all the steps to perma temp rooting. All other rooting apps work. I went to your site and downloaded the experimental version of the wifi tethering and it still doesn't work!

I actually revolted the computer and it didn't work so i deleted the network on the pc then i uninstalled WiFi and installed it again on my phone and it worked...I gotta say great jobs on the vids

Yes me too. I had a few glitches doing the temp Root. But alas that was not it either. My retired evo has 10sec of glory too then nothing in the wifi. I also had trouble with my laptop and EVO 4G wifi tether because of the nic card/chip. I

@trojan2310 is IT A DNS look up error?? Are the pages you are loading cached pages try a page you never go too. or clear your browser cache. Just an Idea. I have the same problem but my retired evo is having the same problems with the EVO 3D wifi tether. GRRRRR.
