Davey probably just feels he is over most of the songs he wrote about 20 years ago and feels that AFI has improved, which is good. Whatever their fans may think, isn't it most important that the band members feel good about how they are evolving musically? Also, it can't be nice when people claim that something you made 20 years ago is your best work to date, when you really just want to forget it.

That said, Davey dances like a chicken in this video :).

I didn't say they only play old stuff, that's insane... but they do give fans a decent amount given that they have 8 full-lengths and a fair amount of EPs and B-sides.

Maybe if they played all 4 of those songs at one show. You're lucky if you get at least 2 old songs at a show.

Their set lists are so predictable now. First track on their newest CD (Torch Song), followed by Girl's Not Grey and Leaving song part 2. Mix about 6 songs from STS, 4 songs from DU, and 5 from CL and 2 old songs and you have a current AFI show.

That's not very balanced if you ask me.

This is like 3 months too late but I mean if you listen to all of their records in order you can hear how they change. Black Sails in the Sunset is their best album IMO. That was their peak.
