Yes this is just for fire rating, and is not waterproof. Once the PVC roof is installed over it, the roof will never leak... well, if you do a good job of course.

thats the right installation, here in frisco most koreans don't follow that installation rule to save money.

i actually hate installing fire-sheet because it's made of fiberglass and at the end of the day you are itching all over your body, for next few days. Also wind will easily tear the fire sheet even if you use 3" plates... net a fun stuff to work with, but in some cases its required for fire rating

what's fibre glass? Why does it itch for so long, even after you shower? It's stuck inside you? How about your lungs then? You  need a respirator then?

don't start a panic or a witch hunt - this is not asbestos.

I's almost the same stuff as the fiberglass mat used on the Poly ISO insulation board, so any roofer with flat / commercial roofing experience will know what i'm talking about. It unpleasant, but surely not dangerous.

It itches if in direct contact with skin, so long sleeves and gloves should be worn, but u don't need a respirator. Itching WILL go away after a day or two.
