They are very different to Mars Volta and as such comparison makes no sense. Maybe IZZ are closer, but either way this is a VERY good band.

@rockster07 I agree man, the problem with trying to make EVERY one individual band unique is people start over doing it and making up stupid ass sub genres that aren't supposed to be there. I mean, c'mon, there are grindcore bands that are called "porn-grind" JUST BECAUSE their lyrics are about porn? BAHAHA So yeah, Cynic is progressive as ballz, love them to death. Prog/rock/metal fits them.
