  • Good Vid.I'm doing the Salem Witch Trials for my S.S. Fair project to.

  • what is the song?

  • Comment removed

  • did u see all of them got hanged on the 19th

  • @Victor2177 Because Christians lived there. Look at the history of Christianity. The inquisitions, the Salem trials, the crusades. I can go on and on. My ancestor was hung in Salem

  • hung!****

  • @funacting1 hanged is the corect way to say it.

  • Wow... Glad we now have our human rights...(1964) Talk about fear, hype and a big misunderstanding in history..

Pagan, Wicca, Christian, Buddist, Jew, Muslim, Atheist spirituality, humanist... Or whatever...

    Yep...

i think should all just be nice to each other...

(in the name of God, or whatever... )

    :)

This is a great thought provoking video... May these beautiful souls, be resting in peace...

    Blessings...

  • Fuckin christians

  • Some people believe the girls may of had Ergot poisoning from contaminated rye which causes effects similar to LSD.

However a few years after the trials ended, one of the young female accusers did apologise for what she had caused so she new there had been a wrong committed.

As someone also mentioned, there was many people killed in Europe for witchcraft and we do like to look for excuses for these horrid actions which were probably mass hysteria, power and just plain cruelty.

  • The witch trials in Europe were far worse.

Well over 100,000 people were hanged or burnt as 'witches' by witch-smellers, witch-finders and witch-hunters.

One of these cruel, evil killers was a man called "Mathew Hopkins" who hanged well over 500 women.

  • its noy hanged its hung

  • @TheJakester778

"Hanged" is correct in this case, referring to execution.

    "Hung" refers to objects.

  • @TheJakester778 its hanged, you people need to go back to school.

  • Good Project, the girls back then probably had epilepsy and of course there was no one to diagnose such a disease. People get rid of what they fear.

  • The justice system.

  • Hey I used this for my school project, people laughed and got info from it thanks....

its actully a really good vid

  • very nice and informative, can you tell me which songs have u used?

  • Rev Samuel Willard played a big role in stopping the witch trials . He even made the judge over these trials repent for what he had done. Look him up ! John Willard was hanged for witchcraft because he refused to bring in others being accused .

  • Those closed-minded, ignorant, Puritan BASTARDS! Wasn't one of the MAIN reasons why they left Europe was to ESCAPE RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION? I honestly hope that all the accusers died slow and painful deaths in front of their MOTHERS!

  • Nice AFI song in the beginning, very informative as well :D

  • Does anyone know why friday the 13th is an unlucky day? they hung most of the witches on a friday and made them walk up 13 steps to get hung

  • friday the 13th is not related to the salem witch trials

  • very informative! thanks! ^^

  • it looks like the movie hocus pocus

  • yeah i think its based on this event. was it? also that movie is on youtube i love that movie!!!!!

  • did you know she blamed it all on tituba ??

  • lulz u barely had ur facts right it was actually fungus in the rye the people ate tht caused the girls to go crazy and make accusations of witches

  • Actually that's an assumption. Various people diagnosed them with different things, from psychosis, delirium and then to poisoning from the rye bread. The girls actually faked it so not to get in trouble, as stated in the video.

  • I beg to differ. I highly doubt that it was the rye bread, as that would create hallucinogen, not madness. The girls simply did it for attention. In addition, there is a map in which it lays out the accusers and then the accused. There was simply a poor side of town. That also explains why high ranking officials were accused.

  • CONTINUE POST :

I forget, but it was something where the wealthy wanted land near the post or something, for their merchant business. As we all know, when some one is accused, their land is up for auction. No one would want land that is claimed ot be bewitched, except the accuser. The accuser has no fear, as they are well aware that the accused at no time practiced witchcraft. The land would sell at a very low price. Its all about jealousy, greed, and vengence.

  • Also, some of your information is based off the play by Arthur Miller, the crucible. It is simply fiction. I really like your documenary, I would give it an advance score.

  • Well, it wasn't ALWAYS about the land, say you hate your neighbor, you find out all you have to do is say she's casting spells over you and that she "beith a witch" (sorry, talking in Old English is fun) and she dies. If you were evil enough, you would definately use that to your advantage, am I right? ^.^ I have to do a project but I wish I could make a video (I didn't have that option, my science teacher last year gave us that option though, stupid Social Studies teacher lol)

  • I never said that nor hinted at that. I just proposed that a major portion of the accusations were fueled by hopeful posessions of land. At the end of the day, there was none of this rye bread hallucinogen drug business. This was simply greed, the fatal human flaw.

  • Dude, you did a totally great job on this. My teacher used this video to prompt us on an English III AP assignment that we just began today. I'm such a nerd that I got home and started watching it again. Kudos!

  • Wow, this was REALLY good.

    Encore! =]

  • Can you imagine being like a 2 year old girl and losing your mum because people thought she was a witch?

  • that would be horrible

  • this is cool i love to learn stuff yes im a nerdx] but i mean this is history .and i hate the ppl who say someone is something there not and what do u know this is a story that makes it really and may teach u as to not say someone does something bad even if u don't like them or they hurt u or i dount this would happen but look at the ppl that die because of liers and hates

  • lol AFi nice XD

  • Wow, you really did your research. It's sad to think people did this back then. Could you imagine living back then?

  • hi i thought this video was really informative. I udied the Salem witch trials for my English project at school. This video sed everthing i wrote in just a short space of time well done :)
