  • AND NO ONE CAN FUCKING DRIVE THERE!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont think some of you get it, its not that its so dangerous that people dont like to be there, its just so fucking boring and depressing. I'm from Detroit and would choose the worst neighborhoods there than anywhere in fucking Youngstown.

  • i live there

  • Hi, hey where is a good place to work in a steel plant in Youngstown.

  • One thing for sure, there's ample parking spots there.

I was in shock when I finally saw one person walking in the street.

    Christ, what a depressing place.

  • gr8 United Future Organization song m8! tnx a lot

  • listen - when u live in youngstown, u either go to school and do something with your life... OR you get involved in the dirtiest, 100% ruthless, stone cold people that u will ever meet. ull see the worst of the worst. it is what YOU make of it here.. its a eat.. or dont.. n "do what u gotta do" kinda place... every city has it tho. if you havent lived here, i wouldnt talk about it like you know just bc u heard... believe me, YOU HAVE NO CLUE! it would blow u away!

  • I was born and raised on the Southside there....

This vid is uh....depressing, but nice try.

Maybe if they paint some of those planer old towers different colors it could look less depressing.

  • Im from Youngstown, now in Columbus...you make it look better than what it really looks like! LOL

  • i was born and raised in youngstown, and after that i lived in many places but YOUNGSTOWN was the best out of them all! dont make your judgment based off of some bad photos. if i had the choice i would be living there right now! i love youngstown!!!

  • I love youngstown :D

  • quit complaining and move to disney land if you wanna have so much fun. its obviously gunna get boring after you have lived here your whole life. the city is coming bad to life. the drug dealers will never go away . youngstown still has alot, you jsut are to stupid to realize

  • OldFashionedMama23 u outta ur damn mind if u think the southside is beautiful. Aint nothin over but a bunch of ghetto ass, ignorant black people and all the drugs and shit is over too.the eastside aint no better. I stay on the northside and its great,I love it. But I think the westside is the best side of town above all. Yours truly,Andrea

  • I know there are bad parts on the southside. I never said all of it was nice. Our neighborhood is on the upper south side almost to the Boardman line, and it is a very nice neighborhood. Trust me, we lived on one of the bad streets, so I know what it can be like. I'm surprised you like the north side. I have friends at ysu who live up there and get robbed constantly.

  • Whats there to do in youngstown? and hows the weed around there?

  • Yea , I live here... its not that bad... Come and stay a few nights.... LoL... you'll love it!!

  • I love Youngstown!

Just because a couple of pictures look bad doesn't mean the whole city is bad.

  • I really hope that this is a "jack-around video"...

  • Love the beginning..feels like deja-vu..oh wait I go that way down Market every morning to school at YSU! I don't care what anyone says, yall. I've been lots of places, across the country and back, but Youngstown is awesome and I don't want to live anywhere else. (ps please check out the Symphony this Saturday at the DeYor. 8pm...gonna be a great show!)

  • ive lived other places but youngstown is where my heart is and i dont want to live anywhre else

  • hello to you all from Naples Italy!

  • I'm 18 and I've lived here all my life on Jacobs, and its been fine, from when I was five I've been able to walk to places like John White, The McGuffey Center, my grandma's, the corner store, all the way to the bus stop in the plaza without worrying about "getting shot over 5 bucks". 18 and lookin forward to graduating from The New East High School and going to OSU so I can be one of the people bringing this town up. Granted Youngstown can be a bad place, worse then most, and what it should be

  • Good for you!!!

  • Yeah I don't honestly get why people think Youngstown is so bad. We used to live on Helena and just moved a few streets over to Elva. We have a beautiful neighborhood over here on the South Side, and its quiet-no problems.

  • I think this is actually pretty funny, the way people who barely know anything about the city are calling it a ghost town and generalizing all of its citizens "They can't read" "can't speak proper English", "they're a bunch of dumb fucks" "The Cops are crooked" "the politicians are crooked" and all this stuff about the East Side especially. I live in Youngstown, on the East Side, in the core of The East Side matter of factly. The Sharon Line.

  • Poland and Canfield are the two nicest suburbs. Poland is a bit more histoircal though since it is the oldest. The most affluent too.

  • at 4:49 to the left is were my mom works it has a nice view on the 9th floor if u go to the mantanice room and go down this hall thingy its really nice!

  • Youngstown blows. There is nothing going on there. most of these buildings in these pictures are closed down. no reason to go there!

  • seriously youngstown is not a bad place alot of important people were born and raised in youngstown so unless you live there dont judge

  • on one hand we want an upstanding popular city, on the other we want low prices, taxes etc, etc..... sorry to say but you cannot have both! low rating city= easier living, so it is a good thing(i think)

  • this place looks like a shithole, i feel sorry for you if you live here

  • There are far worse places in the world to live than Youngstown, Ohio. Fortunately for us, the city is on an upswing...and re-inventing itself as a technology center.

  • haha funny

they are trying to make youngstown great again

    but it will never happen

    i hate it here

worst place to live by far

  • @rondiscscinema And now the new V & M Star too.

  • it was a great place to live until it beacame a shithole, i move away from this area because it a bad area

  • @tooldread Dude, you're talking about someone's home! At least try to be polite if you must criticize it. FYI - I visit Youngstown about once a year and always have a blast.

  • youngstown sucks

  • Younstown is not like that i used 2 live there and nobody is polite and there's garbage, guns, blood, and gangsters who try soo hard 2 get girls and there is more crime than no other its not a nice place 2 live.

  • You know folks this town is simply stunning - in the way well made nature documentaries are. I don´t get it how there can be places like this in the richest country of the world. I´ve seen some bad places in Russia, Eastern Europe and Northern Africa, some of them recently torn apart by wars, with incredibly low average income levels, but still somehow the decay is nowhere nearly as dense as in Y.

  • Well said, and I totally agree! There are many places in the world that are as bad as Younstown but not many in the USA.If aliens landed in Younstown they would throw that craft into reverse and go back as soon as they saw it!

  • hey i live in austintown which is right by y-town u need 2 rember we were tight when the mob was here and that we were #2 on hitler's hit list because of all the steel we produced

  • austintown is youngstown, it is a suburb, youngstown consists of poland, boardman, canfiels, austintown, struthers(sorry if i am forgetting any)

  • You don't need people on the streets. If you want to see what the people are like, read the posts.

  • i made a change in that town by forcing some of my friends that had the mentality of dropping out to graduate. the fact that you're comparing America to Youngstown isn't necessary. not every town is #7 most dangerous place to live is it? you clearly don't know what it's like to walk the streets not knowing if you're going to get shot for $5 or not. rather than creating programs to push these less fortunate ppl to graduate, guess what Y-Town does...LIFE SKILLS yay! encouraging them to drop out??

  • nah, life skills just offers people and easier way out of high school, it makes them dumb

  • those "jungle" ppl you speak of in Iraq are blowing up cars and shooting up our men, which is the total opposite of the point you were trying to prove. just because they have oil makes them good guys all the sudden? I'd say it's a 50/50 blame on them, and the society they were raised in. They have choices to either gang bang or graduate. but they don't have ppl giving them the motivation needed. and what does COMPETITION have to do with anything lol???

  • mcbride 731 said it all. As far as real estate, when you can buy a house for 5grand, that's Youngstown. I loved living in Youngstown and one time I was proud of Ytown. But that was in the 50s and 60s, since the 70s Ytown became a piece of crap, including the people that lead Ytown and especially the Police Dept. What a total shalme.

  • I don't see any people in the photos, even downtown. Is there a reason this city exists?

  • lol?? from a real estate perspective? so basically you're saying as long as you make money and ppl buy houses, everything is ok? you should start looking at WHO'S buying those houses, and how long they stay up. crime isn't going down due to houses being bought lol.

  • fact is....from a real estate perspective, things are booming like never before. Investors are buying up houses like crazy. Let me guess....you heard banks and real estate agents are doing poorly? Consider the source. "Real" real Estate Investors don't use banks and they certainly don't use real estate agents.Forget what the media tells you....just like stocks.....you buy when they are low. My comapny alone did over 100 rehab properties in youngstown last year. prior to 2005 we only did 10ayear

  • Buy low? I think this is a bit too low. This is a future ghost town.

  • great food ....pizza is the best...wedgewood.. avalon gardens...uptown..other then that ..its a shithole...some good 420 also

  • born and raised in this shit hole. i don't know where to begin. half you ppl leaving comments can't speak proper english, so that proves this damn town is a disease. secondly, how can you honestly sit back and say you saw this place "fall and now rise"?? the only thing rising is the homicides every fukin week. and you street thugs are proud of the east side n shit, but all you're showing is you're part of the problem. fuk yourself. talkin shit until someone in your family gets killed, then what?

  • Ah Yes, Jungle music, how appropriate for Youngstown.Send this to Barack, his kind of town.

  • And we wonder why America isn't doing so well. Maybe it's your 18th century mindset that is making us less competitive. Just like the British thought that India was full of "jungle" people... Those "jungle" people now own Jaguar and Range Rover and employ a lot of people who think like you. What about the "jungle" people who sell us oil and own huge chunks of our debt?

  • I have watched this city fall and now I'm watching it rise! Things are getting better. For those that don't like it, shut up & move out or lend a hand & make a difference. There is bad and good in all cities. We have many great things here in our town; YSU, Mill Creek Park, Butler and Arms Museums, new city schools being built, Chevy Center, new bars and restaurants, collage sports, semi pro hockey, arena football, highschool sports the list goes on and on. This is a great place to live!!!

  • I agree. Youngstown isn't as bad as it seems.

If you have never lived here, don't judge.

  • streets with not even one man are bit creepy...but you know what? if all people go out on foot and people of all the city would walk on the streets, there should be no problems.

  • yeah chevy center! woot! :)

  • Embrace death, Embrace Youngstown. I did a long time ago. I love it here. Forget finding a job here, unemployment is the way to go. Change in the community is a sugar coated lie, just accept where you live and be happy.

  • daz my town if u a hata talk shit 2 us in our face and u will die jus lik it did on da real real

  • i live on youngstown lol go kelly the ghost pavelick

  • I passed through Youngstown. I was shocked, it was such a dying town. But interesting at the same time. The river park was beautiful. Sad how a town dies.

  • i live in boardman+youngstown pure gangsta =p

  • This video's kinda corny... Youngstown is gay i've lived here my whole life...it ain't shit but violence and drama...Once the mills closed youngstown went downhill...no jobs or nothin u can't even sell drugs because there are too many damn drug dealers...u need to show the bad parts of youngstown so people can see the real thing...youngstown ain't good no more...What about the east side...the east side isn't hard...it's just wanna be thugs over there...

  • i live on the eastside we aint no wanna be thugs son

  • Lol Youngstown Ohio... Bomb city, My dad always told me that story about Joy Naples getting blown up there.

  • I've lived in youngstown my hole life its not that bad you can walk around down town theres a nice college and good italian food. People who get robbed and shot are either doing bad things or in the wrong place. pure common sense go to the east side after 12 your gonna get in to trouble stay on the main roads you should be fine. If all else fails throw stuff off the 5th avenue bridge.

  • i live on the eastside... you scared?

  • i liveed in y-town for 4 1/2 years & now live in boredman,THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUNGSTOWN,its overrated and a wonderful place

  • yeah

  • Here let me open the door, I was born in East Los Angeles,California not exactly the plush part of town. I now live in Hollywood Hills, Ca. after running with the wrong crowd I decided to change my life and pursue a higher education. I grew up with friends who were gang members and never have I seen so many innocent people being attacked in a town such as Yougstown and in Buffalo, N.Y. I do realize there are many nice folks in Y-town and I am speaking in their behalf only.

  • I own homes in Y-TOWN the city is riddled with corrupt cops and violent crime. The city was once alive when the steel industry was strong. The certain element will kick in the homes and steal everything they are worse than termites that eat everything, pure scum...

  • If you own homes in Youngstown, where do you l live?

  • Youngstown sucks no jobs...no money...just pure Ghetto

  • nothin wrong with ghetto

  • to rara71, it's not safe for any white person and not safe for some black folks.

  • i'm white and i live on the eastside and i dont have a problem

  • My aunt and uncle live in Austintown. It sucks, I don't speak to them anymore, but I love Y-town. I go there every chance I get.

  • i was born and raised there. I moved away in the early nineties when i was almost car jacked, but i pulled out my girl friend .38 and robbed the cat that was trying to jack me. Thats when I knew it was TIME TO GO!!!!!! its seriously not safe there for a white girl.

  • So you moved to Miami to be safe?

  • My grandma lives in Newton Falls Ohio and my mom was born in Warren Ohio and I was born in Middleburg Heights Ohio. I'm really glad that Youngstown is rebuilding itself and trying to get rid of it's past. Kudos to city developers for caring about making their city grand.

  • this is were i live

  • Me too, well Girard actually.

  • I used to live in Boardman.

Now I am in Athens Greece. I remember my days at YSU.

I hated it then but now i see the video and i missed it a little bit.

  • The intro was pure insanity! Lovin it.
