  • Aw, the poor girl playing Tzeitel's bandanna thing feel out of her hair toward the end of the number.

And yes, the English accents were down-right silly. :P

Me, I enjoy the movie version the best. I mean, in general, more than any of the play versions I've seen - including the original. I like the way Tzeitel's character in the movie sang the part of the song where she pretends to be Yente. Ah, they should have gone by the movie.

Alas, they did well. After all, it is a High school play.

  • there definitely shoudnt be this kind of choreo for this number

  • i think the choreography was a little over done. but otherwise it was nice.

  • the set is beast!

  • the accents r quite distracting. and the acting isnt fabulous. neither are the voices. sorry!

  • this is horrible

  • but if they were good actresses, they would change their accents... i did a production of it in Canada and all the people playing jews had jewish accents and the russians had russian accents..

  • yo, why are they british? this show is about jews living in russia...

  • Well, perhaps this production was at a highschool in the UK. Fiddler is reasonably popular in Britain, if not as much as North America.

  • thats true, but it sounds like theyre SERIOUSLY focusing on the accent.

  • @boneyardbrand It was done in the UK :) It says in the description bar that it was done by The Kettering And District Theatrical Society - that's like a regional drama group, for a place in England :)

  • their accent is interfearing with the sound of their voice, its annoying and un even their breathing is wayy off too!

  • they do need voice lessons i am singing this for my voice lessons and i sound so much better and i do not have like any confidence the choreography sucks too

  • never mind the accent!! learn to act!! thats what they need to do first!!!

  • someone needs to give these girls some voice lessons

  • couldnt agree more!!!

  • I Love the fiddler on the roof

  • Aw this is good! Why are some people being nasty about it?? When we did this play at school we wore exactly the same outfits hehe!

  • good singing

the biggest thing was the choreograohy

    which isnt your fault

it was too cheesy and theatre 101

    but yes very nice voices

  • I think you were great! Don't listen to some of these people who told you it was bad and didn't even give critism. KEEP SINGING! YOU ROCK!!! ^.^

  • the singing is nice, but the acting kind of threw me off... sorry :(

  • english...?

even if they are from UK most can pull off an accent that isn't so blatantly british

  • ahh. you are five jewish sisters living in anatevka. so a few points.

    1. you wouldn't be speaking fricken english(which by the way, you aren't doing that well either)

2.tzeitel doesn't dance with them at the beginging, because she hates the matchmaker.

3.chava and hodel wouldn't be excited about tzeitel making fun of matchmaker, they would be annoyed with the sister.

    4. sphritzie and belkie aren't in the dancing til the end.

    5. this is bad, sorry, there is no feeling from you. sry

  • Well, to address points 2-4, a director can interpret a scene any way they choose. It doesn't have to be exactly like any other way someone else has done it. We're doing this show at my school right now and our director has just the 3 main daughters in it and Tzeitel sings and dances right along with the other two- it works just fine. That's what makes every show unique - artistic interpretation.

It could use work, but they have the sisterly affection that's missing from some other vids.

  • what? did you want them to learn a new language???

  • This sux

  • which 1 is you bunnybecca?

  • Chava has no idea what she's doing, and even though you all have lovely voices, it seems really low energy to me

  • oh my gosh, you people are so stupid! These girls ARE English, as in, live in the UK! that is why they have accents...seriously guys, seriously.

  • This was alright...the accents need a little work

i am playing tevye in our schools production this april...i didn't see the tevye from this production...i hope he did it all justice :D

  • im trying out for a lead in our school play of fiddler on the roof

  • so am I! Do you go to Day?

  • A little to much make up. Just a little

  • which one is Chava? Please tell me if you know.

  • at the beginning, she's the one on the far right. red/pinkish apron.

  • i was chava in this play!

  • I also played Hodel in my school's play this year! I loved it. You have a very good voice. The accents are English because, if you aren't Jewish, it is near impossible to get the right accent.

  • they have ENGLISH ACCENTS!

THESE PEOPL WERE JEWISH, their accents wouldnt be anything like this

  • hehe, well yes they were Jewish people in a village in Russia, they wouldn't be speaking English at all, so don't complain about the accents :)

  • aww im doing this soon im tzietel!!,amd to the comment below shes not meant to be singing really well as she is pretending to be the matchmaker at that moment and i thort she was great!! well done all of you!x

  • the only person who couldn't sing was tzietel everyone else was great

  • Thought this was excellent. Really liked it - ignore all the jealous comments! Gret stuff

  • As a pro musician, I really liked this and it is totally unjustified to say these girls can't sing. If you make comments like that, you make yourself look daft! Well done girls.

  • wait was hodel the youngest one? wait no....thats the girl with the yanza or something

  • nope. Hodel was the second oldest, under Tzeitel, the oldest.

  • im researching this play because this summer im doing this play and i want the part of hodel

  • I was Hodel, it was awesome doing it. And you get a solo song! :D

  • the girls look incredibly stiff and uncomfortable. to much makeup! They are suppose to look natural! Tzietel sang two girls parts?! The two girls with hot pink aprons were not even singing half the time! My high school's production of FOTR was 10x better.

  • The girls were really nervous-looking. In my production I was one of the girls in the hot-pink aprons. We arn't supposed to sing until the last paragraph or so. They were all good singers, though.

  • my schools version was 20 times better.these girls can't sing

  • i am in this play

  • Very nice! Good voices!

  • your audiance awaits. well done!

  • to much makeup and the costumes are sorta..ummmm...hot pink??!

  • bravo, bravo!
