Neat. One of my all time favourite songs. I tried the link to download the tab music to try it for myself but dont read music :-( Is it available in guitar tablature format anwhere?
You might like a video tribute to the Captian by a guy called Ian Staples, guitarist with an avant rock outfit called Red Square ,it's an improvisation in the style of Trout Mask Replica.
Matt, do some more Beefheart, like Dali's Car and A Carrot is as Close as a Rabbit Gets to a Diamiond. Also, if you'd like to give the Beefheart treatment to my songs -- search YouTube for ombowstring1 -- I'd like to hear it.
Yeah, there are 2 or 3 spots in "Evening Bell" that are absolutely disarming. Still, it's great to see that people like yourself are still appreciating the CB stuff. You get an "E" for effort dude. Keep up the good work.
Okay Matt, maybe it wasn't the best of the best performances, it's all right and I do think that it's great for selecting this great music! Thank you for doing that....I wish Bill would sit down in front of a camera and re-record this piece once for YouTube...or Jeff Moris Tepper because he did great versions too!....Beefhearts' guitarinstrumentals belong to the best guitarmusic ever made as far as I am concerned.... what about Gary Lucas playing "Evening Bell" and "Flavor Bud Living.....thanks!
Hey man, this is great! Good job. I tried to play this tune by ear when it first came out, did not get very far. I wish you could teach it to me! I wish I could find that Beefheart song about my house is my only head unless it rains on youtube. I would send it to everyone! Keep up the good work, and THANK YOU! Best wishes, Danny
Great to hear this and you did a good job, nice one mate!
I used to work for the Beefheart site (YT won't allow site addresses but I obviously mean the main one, where you got the tab) for a little while and transcribed a few songs (The BozBoz), a few I didn't even get chance to upload. I would love to start transcribing for them again. Do you fancy giving it a go yourself, Matt? The more Don's music available, the better!

Well, I'd love to hear you pouring your soul out, while attempting to sound anything like Mr Zoot Horn Rollo!
When are we going to get that video, mate?
