  • this really is very good. can someone tell me a good recorded version i should get? i've been looking for a good one for a while.

  • @Crazy5Stazy2 Thank you! And I'm sorry, but I don't really know of any recorded versions...though I suppose Lorie Line must have a recording of this somewhere since this version is out of one of her piano books. I just haven't listened to her recording. You could search for that and give it a listen, I suppose! =D - K

  • How strangely beautiful. There is certainly something about you. I have never heard this song being played like that, but your way of playing it adds a new aspect to it. Thank you very much.

  • @diesundas

    Wow, thank you!!! =D - K

  • You play this so very beautifully. I've been playing this song on violin. It is a beautiful tune, a favorite of mine. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift.

    Bill.

  • @blumountainsage

Thank you! It's a favorite tune of mine as well! =D - K

  • sublime. ;)

  • @amoiPatPat

    Grazie! =D - K

  • You've got such a sad beauty about you the entire time you play this, and it's quite appropriate for the song when it's played this slowly, almost mournfully.

But that same beautiful also light up your features at the same time; it's quite breath-taking.

  • @PotterPossum1989 - Wow. Thank you so much!!! =D - K

  • beautiful!! where can i get this sheet music

  • @APR930 - Thank you! And I actually have the book that it was published in, but you can download just the sheet music by googling this -- "Lorie Line" "downloadable sheet music" (with the quotation marks) -- and then clicking on the first link. Go to the "Choose a Sheet Music from the dropdown below ..." box and scroll down until you see "Star of the County Down" (not the easy version). It's $3.95. =) - K

  • @KaamekLasrao thanks sooo much

  • @APR930 - Yeah, no problem!!! =D - K

  • Wow. Thank you! I never imagined that this video would be getting the reactions it has been getting! =D - K

  • You're welcome! And thank you!!! =D - K

  • It says lorie line arrangement so the sheet should be available on her site even 1st page preview/print feature.

  • Hi! Your playing is really touching and it almost made me cry.

This song has been my favourite and I've always wanted to play it on the hammered dulcimer but been unable to get any arrangement I like.

Maybe I could try to follow your playing on my dulcimer ,though it's going to be very hard.....!

Thank you so much for your great performance.

  • Aww, wow! Thank you! =D - K

  • Nice~

I like to play piano also..

  • Yeah, piano is awesome. =) - K

  • Aw wow that is beautiful, really well played!

Haha that car at the end adds a nice whoooosh, it sorta fits!

  • Thank you!

Haha, yup! It's kinda neat that it happened at the end and not right in the middle, too! =) - K

  • things like that add an extra touch of realism and spontaneity to it. One chinese lady was playing her ghuzing and as she began her dog comes over and pushes her arm up and wants an ear scratch. cute.

  • =) - K

  • A beautiful version of one of my very favorite songs. Great job!

  • Thank you!=) - K

  • it wont hurt your face to simle.... you are so good so that gives you a great reason to smile keep up the good work!!!

  • Thanks so much! Yeah, after I recorded this and watched it, I was like, "Wow. I look really serious. And I have some strange expressions sometimes." I guess I'm just not used to having to worry about facial expressions while playing piano because the audience isn't usually looking at your face, or at least not your whole face. =) - K

  • beautiful, i should pick up my guitar and get my bro to play his tin whistle and see what can come about. i love this song with all my heart, no other with take its place. in any form, in any fashion, this is the song that i wish i could sow to my being and make it a part of me

  • Thanks!

Wow. Yeah, I love this song, too. =) - K

  • Thanks so much! - K

  • Crap!!! I keep watching it! Its my fav instrumental version on youtube. Just really soothing.

  • Wow! I'm really flattered! Thanks! - K

  • Excellent job... Keep it up! This is my favorite Irish folk song.

  • Thanks! This is one of my favorite Irish songs, too. I like the more traditional, faster version of this song, too. I pretty much like any Irish song, really, even though I'm not Irish! But I want to be! ☺ - K

  • Well, the way you play it is just fine! I recently put down the guitar after ten years and picked up then tin whistle. It seems like every guy you run across plays guitar. I dont know a soul that plays the tin whistle. But I think I'm learning pretty well from going from a string instrument to a wind instrument.

  • Thanks!

Lol! Yeah, it does seem like every guy plays guitar. I never really realized that! That's awesome that you're learning tin whistle! And yeah, I bet it is a huge difference to change from a string instrument to a wind instrument. But you shouldn't give up guitar! Keep playing the guitar and just add the tin whistle to your musical abilities! - K
