  • Shining finger theme song from G Gundam was just as good as anime janai. Flying in the sky

  • I like the English instrumental opening better, it just gives it a more epic and dramatic feel.

  • hey that guy with the shades i know that guy thats char wow even without the helmet these dudes always find a way to cover ther eyes

  • so what happons to fraw bow???

  • @heeropat (lts see. according to the timeline database (it's in some book I read. can't remember the name of it..... my friend had printed out translations for it.) she gets married, pregnant, adopts Katz, Kikia, and letz. Katz dies, Hayato meets up with her in Hong Kong, they mourn the loss of Katz when Bright tells them.

then her baby is born and she grows old anlong with Hayato and dies.

her child is speculated to be the great great great grandparent of the museum owner in F91.

  • @BillyCauseyjr I agree with everything you said except for the last part about Hayato. He was killed during ZZ Gundam. It's a little sad that Hayato died before they showed him spend an time with Fraw. Heck, Amuro was shown spending more time with Fraw and Mirai than their own husbands in Zeta. I've never even seen Bright with Mirai since 0079 even though they were married.

  • @trey18v I havent watched ZZ (since Bandai refuses to bring it over.... beh)

  • @BillyCauseyjr Sorry about spoiling that for you. I just recently got into the UC myself. I was originally a Wing and Seed fan, but after watching the UC series, I have to say that its story blows the rest of the series away.

  • I cannot upvote you enough. You put the faith back in my beliefs of the newer Gundam fans. Mainly Seed. Bless you with plenty Dio, Oh holy diver.

  • She married Hayato

  • which one is the one where the main character a kid always arugues with his mom. I use to see it on cartoon network in the early 2000's . help please

  • Gundam 0080.

I think thats what you're talking about but I don't remember him arguing with his mom. I remember I saw it on Adult Swim back in the day. one of my favorites

  • thanks man ima check it out

  • @THENYCBALLER the only one I remember is in Zeta Kamille argued with his mom and dad..... but the both died in like episode 3 or 4.

  • absolute fuckin classic.......that's what this anime is.

I Wanna have a pure time, everyone's a noble mind!

Believe in a sign of Zeta!

  • No, don't say that Universal Century is worthless. it's just that it exist first that's why they don't know this Gundams from UC=)

  • Son you best be trollin'.

  • hey this is gundam and has nothing to do with the transformers, gundams are actually giant robot vehicles called mobile suits that a human pilots from the inside pilot with handles and pettles (accept for g gundam), yes some mobile suit gundams do transform but not really much for hiding their identity its a form so that they can get through the atmosphear with and gundams do not come from the planet cybertron but transformers do only to get the alspark before the dicepticons do on earth

  • Oh? I am not an expert, but first generation of Transformers was made around 1984, when people from Hasbro bought rights to several japanes toy lines and decided to sold them under one single brand. So your ultra original super american Transformers are in fact of japanese ancestry. Not to mention that first gundam came out five years before, in 1979...

  • @JohnyCrusher the first transfomers series was based off the SDF Macross toys (i.e F14 lookalikes that turned into mechs) and they imported them as recoolors and sold them under the "Robotech" brand. (with licensing from harmony gold) then Haasbro took teh concept and started their own brand of toys.

  • @JohnyCrusher so in short, Transofromers is a rippoff of Macross.

Transformers G1 ran from 1984-87 and got a rerelease in 1990.

    Macross ran in 1982

Gundam 0079 ran in 1979 and then got an update with the movie trilogy in 1981.

  • @BillyCauseyjr I wouldn't go that far. The concept of transforming robots predates all of them. Not sure when the earliest known "transformer" appeared, but the oldest I'm aware of was - oddly enough - in the Japanese TV version of Spider-Man, which ran in 1978.

  • i think the fans in the us gut fuck on this one ilove this song

  • Comment removed

  • how isn't zeta gundam a "mainstream" one

  • I assume he means 'mainstream' in the US, as opposed to japan. In japan, its regarded as one of THE best series, but here, it was simply a direct to DVD release. And an expensive one at that!

  • ah i see what you mean

  • In this generation and non-Japanese countries, Zeta isn't really that mainstream.

with 1 Zeta fan there are probably about 20 Seed and Gundam wing fans fapping.

  • nothing made 20 years ago is really mainstream :c

  • Ima wago kinai sore ga sadame dakedo akirame wa shinai mo mezamete kara moeru tokimeki wa jidai wo utsushi iro azayaka ni moe sakaru honou CRYING nima wa mienaku tomo SEARCHING michishirube wau kaubo I WANNA HAVE A PURE TIME EVERYONE'S A NOBLE MIND soko ni no kota waksa tomidachi BELIEVING A SIGN OF ZETA,BEYOND THE HARD TIMES FROM NOW* Kawaka ku chibru muraka eiru nara tokira nori koe atsui jidai eto utsuru dai kotto shinjiteiru kara (*means repeat,I ran out of Space)
  • it suck this song wes remove form the us dvd

  • Too bad the Char we know wasn't actually Char.

Hell, Char was someone else entirely who he let die in his place.

  • Frankly i doubt Char the first would have been as awesome as The Char we all know.

  • Oh, I agree.

  • what's wrong with what you said?

  • Fun Fact: This song was an originally an american song called "Better Days Are Coming" written and sung by Neil Sedaka off his album "Solitaire". Tomino (the creator of gundam) is a big fan of sadaka and had all zeta's openings and closing songs be a japanese version of a sedaka song. dont beileve me, look up Solitaire (album) on wikipedia. not enough proof fer ya? I got the link were you can hear "Better days are Coming" listen to it.. its the same fucking song it just has diffrent instruments.

  • There is a video here on yotube proving I'm right, Look up the video "Zeta Gundam Opening 1 Better Days are coming." by RyotheTiger. and see for your self my fellow gundam otakus!

  • not news, its why the R1 songs aren't these

  • didn't know this but Tomino sure made a good choise there.

  • is it just me or did i see an oldskool haro again in there.

  • You did. Haro became a member of the cast sometime around...the fifth or sixth episode? I forget which one, exactly, but he was found by Camille when they were on the Moon, and he took Haro aboard the Argama.

  • i think this op really fits.i mean if you just listen to it it means pure action, unlike seeds over use of jpop and orcheasta,it tells you about angsty

  • Yes because the original gundam had a very fitting opening as well.

  • i like this song...sooo smooth...so calm =)

  • Seed sucks but I think it attracts some Gundam fans who will soon watch the UC series.

I have a friend who's a Seed fan and after he saw Zeta he said he can no longer watch Seed again due to its crappy storyline :p

  • Not only does Seed have a crappy storyline and overly emo and contradicting characters the Gundam designs are stupid as well. Not to mention the art style change was to drastic, I love the old style it added a sense of nostalgia. I can see why your friend refuses to watch seed anymore.

  • Yeah Gundam Seed's artwork is so poor that all the characters' faces look the same

  • It's funny cause it's true. xD 00 is god awful too I watched an episode or two on animonday, It's so dumb.

  • oh good point fellow gundam fan

but it is really hard to get G gundam fans to UC though.

  • 0:43 The line under 「星空のBelieve」 says ニール・セダカ or Neil Sedaka. What a trip.

  • i personally liked 0083 the best

  • If the year doesn't start with U.C., then it is not a true Gundam series. :P

The only exception to that rule is G Gundam.

  • and gundam x and gundam wing. all series that end with Turn A are "true" gundam series.

  • Oh, right. Thanks. ^-^

  • Gundam X is a true gundam series. Gundam Wing were pretty overpowered and those godawful reaper scythe shit.

G Gundam is a good gundam series too cuz Domon is GAR and not an emo like Kira Yamato and Gundam Wing characters

  • Are you kidding? "THE GOD OF DEATH IS BACK FROM HELL" is the best scene ever.

  • @Mazda

I would love to live in a colony lol. And Victory, following from before, was the only series that I didn't enjoy. I just found it hard to like Uso for some reason. I have adored every other series, and even the most die-hard SEED-hater has to agree that the mecha designs and animation quality were fantastic.

  • All of you do you wanna live in the colony?

  • A colony would be nice, provided someone doesn't decide to screw up the environment and have me loose my home and/or perish.

I think we should leave the earth to rest for a few centuries...

  • I think some of us should live in space colonies to provide more space for mother earth because the population is always growing and some should live in craddle platforms on the earth too like in armored core for answer that would be awsome

  • The Gundam Seed actually caused a noticeable split.

Essentially, the increased focus on the Characters and well....exceeding angst was not what everyone wanted.

This lowered the amount of Awesome Giant Robot Fights in relation to the angst, along with reusing the same footage over and over.

BUT the advantage was that the characters were much better defined in SEED than usual.

However, this drawed a line...the best way to simplify it was that Boys disliked it, but Girls loved it.

  • oh i see tnx man i just really wanted to know why everyone hated seed/destiny

  • If I could give you a thousand 'thumbs up's I would do so.

  • I love Char's sunglasses.

  • DID YOU LIKE CHAR'S SUNGLASSES?!

  • I did.

  • zeta pulse rock ilovezeta

  • only gundam seed ruined the series.

  • even Tomino himself called Victory failure.

Please do not speak if you have no idea.

If you look at back of Japanese DVD of V gundam it says this 'DVD sucks do not watch it but sound on the third volume is nice so you should listen to it'

  • so you mean you hate gundam seed/destiny? i was just saying that gundam seed didn't ruined the series.

  • he said that Victory's a failure so whats your point? i was also saying that its really a failure so seed is really much better than victory

  • IIRC it actually says do not buy, but you have to buy it anyway. Tomino actually hated Victory, not explicitly calling it a failure, IIRC he was in a depression at the time. He also sorta dislikes ZZ

  • yet V is still one of the better Gundam series, even if its weird sometimes. though now because of it i feel that every gundam series needs massive amounts of dead characters to be good.

  • i wanna know his view bout seed/destiny & 00.

  • He said he didn't really watch alternate universe shows but doesn't like them in general

  • i love zeta, but i gotta say say the song for this opening on the english version i guess it is, just works better cause its darker

  • well, that's 80 jap rock for u. what do you expect.

still zeta is the gundam version of ideon. a complete tragic series.

  • true! :D

  • This opening beats the shit out of any anime opening today. I don't care what anyone says, this is a more exciting way to open up a series.

  • From 0:48 toward the ending, that's the best compiling of images in any animated opening.

  • Totally. On today's anime openings its just a character standing on a mountain peak spacing out..

  • 300% agreed my friend

  • It kinda miffs me that this isn't on the English DVDs. It's far better than the opening we got.

It was my favorite Gundam series as well. Anyone guess my favorite MS? Quattro is cool.

  • it's strange i'm watching the dubbed version and the intro is not this one for ep 1 why is this?

  • The U.S. producers didn't have rights to the original opening music or something like that.

  • I got to admit this: I really love this opening but the one they used for the U.S. opening kind of fits the tone of the series better, I'm up to episode 23 now.

I guess the person who said "Tomino works with happy openings usually means: sad endings" is pretty right.

    Love this series.

  • yeah, americans tends to screw with people

  • how good is this opening? very good.

how happy does the show make me? very happy.

  • i love this song

  • i love that song

  • Char's my favourite and he features in every Gundam opening

  • amuro ray chamille's daddy

  • i hope your not serious if o go rewatch Zeta again

  • good song

  • this is like the classic gundam openings ever i love this opening ^^

  • the most gundam pilots that ware masks can say 1 thing "Char"

  • i like the music

  • So much comments and no one believes in the sign of Zeta? For shame.

  • I believe in the sign of Zeta!

I also want to have a pure time, and believe that everyone's a noble mind.

  • Too late, I'm offended. LOL

  • The English version made by Richie Kotzen isn't too bad either.

  • havent heard it

  • zeta is an awesome series

  • This song does not fit gundam at all in my opinion

  • Comment removed

  • I WANNA HAVE A PURE TIME!

    LOL

  • hey remember at the beginning of the series the AEUG stole 3 Gundam MK II, Kamille used one of them...but what happen to the other two? they never said.

  • they were disassembled for further study

  • Wasn't one of the captured MK II's used as the base for the Zeta?

  • not true

  • Oh, alright, I always figured it was. Oh well.

  • oh yeah they did steal two. i haven't watch that show for a long time

  • I think I saw somewhere, they were gonna strip them down and research them. Basically, they kept one, and scrapped the others.

  • i prefer the japanese opening over the american one

  • but this song was made by an American singer Neil Sedaka, its ironic

  • to think its 1980s but superb animation compared to US cartoons...what happened to Filmation and the producers of silver hawk, thunder cats and tigersharks?

  • the FCC my friend, the FCC

  • Filmation hires Japanese studios to do most of their animation that is why silver hawk, thunder cats and tiger sharks looks cool.

  • That's Rankin Bass, not Silverhawks.

  • What can Imo say Zeta Gundam was the best out the UC Gundam series.

  • this was such an epic intro................ but nooooooo the Americans had to get the idea of using an orchestra.... it sounds so retarded and stupid... yeaaa people really wanna an orchestral intro for a high tech mecha anime..... retards

  • Their hands were tied. Bandai couldn't get the rights to the songs outside of Asia.

  • Strange, though. There was a similar situation when Funimation got the rights to the anime Romeo + Juliet, which also had a Japanese language theme based on an English language song (in this case it was "You Raise Me Up", popularized by Josh Groban).

Yet funimation has that theme intact, but Bandai doesn't have the original Zeta theme.

  • No kidding i heard the american intro. It almost caused my ears to bleed in sheer fail.

  • Besides, it WAS a track form the shows' soundtrack in the first place.

  • I just think Alias was attempting to complain about how Americans ruin anime(which they dont), and he completely failed. Anyway, judging from the comments on his page, he seems to be a troll

  • Actually the US theme was written by the same guy who wrote the score for both ZZ and Char's Counterattack. Saegusa (cant remember first name) since Bandai couldn't get rights for the themes outside of Asia.

  • The Universal Century always did have some of the best music.

  • Comment removed

  • I figured that was it. It's funny, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross got released here, and the frequently used background fight music is a cover of "Synchronicity II" by The Police...and I'm sure it wasn't licensed!

  • OP1 episode1-23

    1985年3月2日-8月10日

  • Anyone know why this song doesn't appear over the opening credits on the DVD box set in the U.S.? Rights issues?

  • Yep, rights issues. I think it has to do with the fact that it's based on the song "Better Days are Coming" by Neil Sedaka.

  • VINTAGE

  • Watching Zeta for the first time (just finished episode 15) and I have to say, that anyone who thinks Seed (I haven't seen Seed Destiny - don't really want to - or 00) measures up in any way has to be nuts.

And I'm not some old fogey who thinks that older anime is always better and newer anime sucks (I think that, for instance, Macross Frontier is a worthy successor to the original Macross).

Zeta Gundam is just THAT GOOD, at least so far.

  • 00 will remind you a lot of Zeta especially during season 2.

Well im not particular on what timeline the series is, im just hoping for a great storyline, ms, and a great song to boot.

  • umm how

  • really how i .didnt reallly notice

  • titans=A-laws

    Seravee=The O

there are some pretty good similarities but not enough to call the series a second coming of zeta.

  • thats true but dont forget the ending of 00 sort of picks up where Zeta gundnam and ZZ gundam left off.. the whole Jupiter thing

i mean paptimus scirocco people wondered if there are more guys like him on jupiter or how Roux and Judau went to live at Jupiter. and the Gundam 00 their going to jupiter

  • i see what ur saying but I THINK they copied the ending not pick up after

(just my opinion, please no one take this the wrong way )

  • dude u have the right idea , but still watch 00 its beyond crazy good

  • me and my fellow old school gundam otakus have a saying and it goes like this.... "U.C. gundams are the best, so fuck all the rest!"

  • Its just a fucking shame that gundam started out as a 20 year old dude show.... and now its only watched by teenage girls.... its just fucking sad...... Its like what happened to star wars. they ruined their legeacy by forcing the francise to go on...... Its just sad... us older gundam otakus have fucking had it. Face it Gundam sucks now that Yoshiyuki tomino left sunrise studios......

  • We meet again my friend witha simular username! whats up! I thought you said you were leaving youtube for good? Anyway I agree .... Seed and 00 were so horrible story wise that I heard in Japan they both were hated by the older gundam fanbase..... but the younger fans who never saw how great the old gundams were liked these crappy new gundams..... It's our job as Older anime fans to educate these younger anime fans to show them that animation and cute characters do not make a anime good.

  • Skcabby! Nice to see ya again dude!.. yeah I'm still gonna leave youtube so i can find a site were I can post classic gundam episodes with out getting into trouble like what happened to gundamgrimlock on here...... Yeah I beat the crap out of my little cousin and showed him old zeta episodes.... Now he is hooked on the classic gundams.... I saved him from the evil kown as "Gundam 00" lol

  • Ha Nice! Yeah at a convention me and some of my gundam otaku pals made fun of a bunch of pre-teens who thought seed was better.... I said to the kids "Have you even seen zeta gundam?" and they never heard of it so we showed them a few episodes and they liked them... so there is STILL hope for these younger generations of anime fans.... Old school gundam otaku pride baby! I'll miss ya my brother! Let me know when you post the episodes! Hail Zeon!

  • I will i still have your e-mail so i'll let ya know! See ya gundam brother! Hail Zeon! (Salutes back to you)

  • I grew up watching the UC Gundam series, and Zeta was my favorite, but Gundam 00 is not bad at all i just finished watching episode 50 of 00 last week and it was great. Have u even watched the series?

  • you thought that was great !? way too much political bull shit.... i now all gundams have some plitical undertones to it but come on! 00 was way too Political

  • that's what I love about the uc serie though. The political aspect gives them a sense of reality like it could really happen and also gives the show meaning. Gundam is great because unlike most of the other shows of the time it had real human undertones and rational explanations for why the war was even started and what the actual goal was, not just to obliterate the other side but the real goal freedom/control. It wasn't about good vs evil

  • but the subversion of a government form (duchy) that was self destructive. We could really relate to the humans fighting on both sides. The soldiers in the duchy who were bound by loyalty or fear of noncompliance and the Union who were fighting to restore control over the colonies. We really got to understand the characters on both sides, like in all human wars. Ramba Raul has always been one of my favorite characters who I've always felt was

  • just born on the wrong colony. He could have made a great federal officer with his devotion to duty. Politics = explanation. I agree we need a balance though.

  • true!

  • Like i told the other guy have u ever watched 00?

The series was great overall, it has to be my 2nd favorite behind Zeta.

  • i did..... it was horrible .... not as bad as seed but still it was awful .... 00 has good animation but the plot was predictable it had unlikeable characters with sterotypical good looks... 00 was absolute shit compaired to zeta.... gundam sucks now that yoshiyuki tomino has left sunrise stidios

  • You watched all 50 episodes, the first 10 or 12 eps were very boring but then it got interesting. They do have lots of good characters, Ali al Sarches reminded me of Yazan gable, A-Laws reminded me of the Titans, Graham Aker was a very good character. Overall i would give the series an 8 out of 10. But Zeta still my favorite. Btw did u watch Victory gundam is it any good im thinking about watching it.

  • yuck......oh well... believe what you want.... I still think its shit thats targeted twowards pre teens..... not something REAL gundam fans should watch because yoshiyuki tomino had nothing to do with making it..... V-gundam kind off sucked sometimes but the ending redeemed its self... but sometimes you will be saying WTF like in one episode when the bad guys want to stop the gundam pilots so they send a bunch of hot women in bakinis to distrcat them......

  • well i can understand why they made Gundam seed, it was horrible but they wanted a bigger fanbase and more money and they wanted to attract younger kids so its understandable but they could have at least made a better series, a series which would attract Young fans and older Gundam fans. But Gundam 00 was a huge upgrade over Seed hopefully the next series will be a great one, i heard rumors about it being a UC series.

  • It gonna be gundam unicorn it in UC 96 3 years after char's counterattack. And no just because it has unicorn in its name doesn't mean its gay. all it is is that the gundam's v antena is closed together forming a horn. It looks pretty good
