you're a good singer, but you sing from your throat and it ends up sounding kind of nasally. so like mags9158 said, work on singing from your diaphragm. it will open up your voice and you will sound fantastic.
u sound a lot better on the higher notes! You are amazing. And I think u should try to feel a little more emotion but other than that...very nice job.
i was not trying to be mean i can be a bit harsh sometimes wht do i know i am just going into 7th grade i just come from a one big family nd i guess i am used to high pitch voicese sry
'and i know ...' lift it! but you have a nice voice, ignore the haters - as a trained singer i can tell you that! anyone has a problem with her ... come to me
I think if you worked on keeping your tongue more in your mouth and less in your throat, your sound would be more vibrant. 15 year old are not supposed to sound 30. I see much potential.
This video is fairly old; recorded perhaps a year and a half ago (though not posted at that time).
As for tongue placement (that sounds awfully strange!), I can hear what you mean, but at that point my voice would be very 'breathy' and I'd place my tongue differently to create a less breathy sound.
Thankfully that's not a problem now XD Voice is still breathy but hey - it's still developing!
I absolutely agree with you, as a singing teacher you sing slightly form your throat to try and get a more mature sound hence the vibrato you try to create, but i always sayto my students we often sound very different to what we think, so brighten the vowels and add ee's try focussing the sound towards the nose but not quite in the nose, and change AH's to A's, support like mad from the dipahram and open your mouth drop the jaw and brighten the cheeks as the sound is lost in your throat .
I actually don't do it for the more mature sound, it's merely because my voice is in the process of developing and it becomes very breathy, which annoys me. The vibrato is natural, I assure you.
like my singing coach (not a teacher, a coach) says: "avoid the 'kermit the frog' sound."
ur voice sounds very full, but it doesnt sound natural, dont force ur throat so much, because it 'the sound' should be coming from ur lower stomach. u might feel it from ur lower back too!
I'm in the main choir. Hello! I agree with some of the comments that maybe you should look into opera if you like the theatrical side of things. Good luck with the auditions! You do have quite a nice voice:)
you're a bit breathy and u have a VERY low voice. you'd be a lot better as an opera singing but you have great potential and with practice you could go far
I don't think it sounds too high for you. You can definitely hit those notes. I think people are confused because you have a deep, full voice. You have alot of talent. Great job. I'm much older than you, but I just uploaded a song from Les Miz I sang at age 14, and you are definitely alot more in control of your voice than I was at that age.
Thanks for the comment :D I know this sounds a bit high, but it honestly isn't! I don't know why it sounds so strange, oh well, I can sing much higher.
you have a nice voice....sort of church choirish.......this song is too emotional for your range..... but you do it well for not having music to sing to..... id love to hear you do "with one look" from sunset blvd...youd knock that one out of the park.....look it up...glenn close sings it....your voice is perfect for it....
hey errrm i don't think the song suits youre voice... its more for deep and low songs.. on my own is quite high and made for a sort of cute voice.. i cant really describe it but ure voice would suit other songs not this one!
Nice FULL bodied voice. Great for opera. A little bit of vibrato and vOiCe dYnAmIcS to make it a little bit more interesting. Dress up and make the song really your own. Good job.
Wow, this is amazing! I didn't expect your voice to be so strong, and I was just.. amazed! It's really beautiful!
You sound like someone who would do all opera songs really well!
Good luck in your choir, I know you'll make it! My school is doing this play in the spring, and I was going to use this song to try out, so wish me luck! ;D
Wonderful voice, and your TURNING 16?? WOW! I seriously thought you were older! You look it, and you sing quite matured for yer age if that makes any sense whatsoever ANYWHOO, lovely job, Keep it up^.^
You are the shizz, Pauli. Currently getting hair dye on my keyboard; that's how much I love you. Do I have to tell you you're amazing? No. Because I've said it enough (:
Are you what they call a contralto? You have a nice full bodied voice with just enough vibrato to make it interesting. I wish you all the best regarding your music career aspirations!
I dont tend to comment, but heres one just for you. Great singing skills you have there, good breath control and you kept focus and didnt waver on notes, i didnt hear anything out of tune either! Much good luck towards your musical career. You should know who i am by my name =)
Haha thankyou for checking out my video :) It's a very good thing I can sing all ranges (even the male ones) but my voice very much settles in the Alto range. If you have any soprano songs you'd like me to sing, just say and I will see what I can do :) School holidays give me much time to do things like that!
You're fortunate -- most of us can't carry a tune in a bucket!! Try Cavatina (from Paul Pott's new CD AND the Deer Hunter) -- I think it's beautiful. Can't believe I never heard it before!!
Wow now I know what a second alto sounds like. I'm a first :)

i think i know kaitlywilkins is talking about it sounds like you are going to low for your voice or your voice is too low for a female lead

you cant sing this song your voice is too low (no offence) i just am in a family of kids on broadway
kaitlynwilkins 2 years ago 2
I don't intend to go into broadway - I don't see how my voice is 'too low' when I'm singing at the pitch that everybody else sings this song at.
Thanks for the comment, though.

no offense but i don't like this...
it sounds like you're trying to sing with a deeper voice than you actually have...so yeah.
sorry :/

You don't have to like it, and thanks for the comment, nice to know what everyone thinks.
I'm not trying to sing deeper than I can though; I know not to force my voice or attempt a 'manufactured' sound.

I don't particularly see how. The song is well within the female alto/mezzo soprano range.
