George looks young, healthy, handsome and is in great voice! Hard to believe that as of today he has been gone 7 years. Whatever that audience paid was not enough! They sure got the best for their money!!
created a supergroup with - Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison, wrote and composed a song (Guitar Gently Weeps) that is one of music most recorded songs in all generes - Country, rock, metal, death metal, pop and contemporary, composed some of the Beatles most recognized riffs (Norwegian Wood, Birthday, I Feel Fine) - First artist use Feedback as a sound not accident... google is a fun tool but check facts before opening traps.. God Bless John and George.
He wrote some of the Beatles most famous (world wide) and recognized songs - Something, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps, was the first musician to challenge the government and the establishment with songs like Taxman and Piggies, first artist to raise awareness and money for third world nations (Concert for Bangladesh) Composed and performed on number #1 songs in 4 decades...
George Harrison was 17 when he joined the Beatles, as the first true lead guitarist in rock, introduced blues rock lead guitar to mainstream that was emulated and expanded by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Paige, brought stringed intrustruments and eastern influence to music which became the premise and sound to mid and late sixties sounds of Zepplin, Jefferson Airplane and reflected in the sounds of the Pepper and White Album, more to come...
Then I guess you don't mind George's sound since his selecter is set at the in between setting which gets both middle and bridge. (4:47) which you can tell by listening by the way. I hate!!! wannabe guitar experts that should just be listening instead of analyzing.
anyway, you said it youself, it was an "unintentional plagiarism" !!! i think that if the court called it that way- then it's true. but, anyway, you have the right to belive in whatever you want...
Did you people know that Lardass56 is a little girl? It's TRUE! She is obsessed with George Harrison and haunts his videos, posting rude comments like these to get attention. If you don't reply, she'll go away.
lardass- first, you have the right to think that about Goerge's music, but i totally disagree with you, i just like his music- and i'm certainly not going to apologize for that. about the plagiarizing- i have no idea where did you get that information from, and the truth is that i would like to know- where , for god sake, did you get that information from??
lardass- i have no idea what makes you think that way, and i think that you cannot be more wrong.
i've never compared his funeral to John's- and i never will, but i don't understand why you have to do that.
instead of going to George's funeral- why won't you try to listen to his music? George is one of those artists that can touch your heart so much- and even makes you cry .
i'm also not trying to compare his music to John's- i just think of him as an individual amazing artist.
George will never be forgotten- his music will last forever. Besides, George is one of the most appreciated artists ever- the fact that you don't know that doen't say you are right.

All the people in this video are A1 in their own rights, from George Harrison to Jeff Lynne. When you look at this video you see a whole history or pop/rock music from the early '60's to the 90's. Genesis, Cream, ELO, The Beatles, UB40, Elton John, the whole spectrum of music all playing, and I might add, superbly, on one stage. Forget the greatest, the best, or whatever, enjoy the moment of all these great artists in their day, one day they will all be like George Harrison, not here anymore.

What is really interesting on this video is that the weeping guitar was played by the same guy who made it weeps on the original record.... Eric Clapton. This is a fact, on the original record George was unable to obtain the weeping sound he want, so he ask his friend Eric to made the guitar weep.
this is a great video , a great song, with great musicians.
for all you arguing about which one is the best, DONT argue. they ALL make up the most famous(and greatest) band in history. they are all equally as great and equally as famous as eachother.
- solo career, Harrison, McCartney AND Lennon all had theyre major moments, but its not cool to be assholes about them. real fans appreciate not hate
When you know some music you can catch the similarity between one song and another chordwise. They might sound widely different but they are so developing off one another. Compare this song to "I'll Be Back" by Lennon or "Things We Said Today" by McCartney. Great minds do move in similar directions.
I really enjoyed the dual guitar solo with George and Eric playing off each other-- they're so intense but you can tell they're digging it also. And I love seeing multiple drummers-- go Ringo and Phil! With all that rhythm you can use a little more bang. Great video. Thanks for posting.
I've always thought George's songs were a mix of Jhon's and Paul's styles. John always wrote anrgy at the world songs. Songs with a deeper meaning. Paul wrote pop songs about love. George did a little of both.
okay anyone who is a beatles fan knows that number one john wrote the progressions to his own songs either on his own or WITH paul/george and two it wouldnt have been the beatles without either one of them because they're all amazing talents
lol withort george harrison, there wouldn't have been a beatles, john was a dick with an ego, sure he wrote good lyrics but last time i remembered, it was paul mcartney and george who wrote the chord progressions, do yourself a favor and shutup
wow, you now little about the beatles dalcon. pauls ego was way bigger then johns. also in the start lennon wrote just about everything (words and music) in the middle paul did and towards the end john started to write more (not as much as paul). they rarely worked together, lennon wrote his own music.
Awesome! Great performance! Look at how cool Harrison is, with even the annoying mic that keeps moving to the side. His singing here is really good, better than even the Beatles days. And Mr.Clapton does excellent work on the guitar parts, good master technician he is.
Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Elton John, Jools Haolland, Mark King, Phil Collins, Ringo Starr and Jeff Lynne. What an amazing line up for a band. Just absolutly fabulous. smallbaldman I'm am so envious that you were there.
When the two drummers are Starr and Collins, it takes two halves to make a whole. :) Just kidding... as I recall, Collins was the drummer for the show and Starr just came on for a guest appearance with George.
This is just one of those musical moments that leaves you speechless. The combination of talent on this stage is amazing and you can tell how much each of them also respected that in spite of their own place in musical history.
This si cool, George sounds really great,Eric sounds fab as well, who is that percussion guy?? I think he was on The Concert For George..is he some Yo- Cat Tamborine man or something ; )?
I think it has much to do with the way the tone and controls were set up. There are many more tones a strat can make.. I think that is the sound Harrison wanted in this case :)
