I'm not trying to start shit but my piercer told me don't clean it more that 2 times or else it will get irritated. And less it will not really be that clean. She told me never to use a cotton ball or pad because it has so much bacteria and the cotton might get in the hole of the piercing. But if it worked for you that's good!!

@xxherexixstandxx94 I've had a few different piercings, and I've learned that at times they will all be a little red and sore. I was told that It isn't a true infection until it has all 4 signs (redness, irritation, pussing, and either soreness or rejection) However, if it is sore and red, you should probably treat it as an infection, and make sure you keep it super clean and use saline. Hope that helped :)

another really good thing that helped me was getting a plastic belly ring. my piercing would not heal after like 8 months then when i put in the plastic belly ring it healed up in like 1-2 weeks it was really surprising. Plastic belly rings work because they bend so it wont hurt unlike metal ones which hurt if u accidently bump them because they don't bend.

my belly got infected... like 3 days after cause im heavy set and it didnt have room to breeze then he put a longer bar in and told me antibacterial soap ...(im only 13 got it pierce Aug. 12 2011.) and seasalt non iodized and its got 50% better if i stop touching it it would be healed but come on i love it.... dnt alway listen to online stuff cuz my piercer said its bull and he was right........ my piercer is a long time family friend so it ur in ny buffalo get it pierce at penitried ink

did you know you are not suposed to clean it that often. it was probably cause you didnt clean it after a while it got infected. because when you clean your sking with stuf like salt water hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol it drys you skin out leaving it perfect for bacteria to harbor. with mine i cleaned it with teatree oil once every two day when i showered

So I got my piercing done like a month ago and it has been red and puffy the whole time. I use h2ocean 3 times a day and keep it clean. I don't over clean it and I went swimming but it was covered with bandages so wasn't severely submerged, afterward I cleaned it as well.
