Do I need to follow the same steps if the light on the odometer/outside temperature display is out? That's the only thing that went out. Would you happen to know what kind of bulb that is?
Thanks for taking the time to post this video. I've been putting off replacing one of these bulbs for over 6 months. The dealer quoted $85 with labor. Ha...with the help of this video, it took me like 15 minutes...tops. The lamp #35505-SA5-003 cost $4 at the dealer.
awsome video! iv been looking around for decent videos like this but expert village has the spotlight flooded with there 12 videos on something that was in this single video... i relay dislike stuff from that channel. they are more of a corporate ran place filled with TUNS of adds. for most of my DIY I'm sticking with the "-expertvillage" on my searches. thanks!
PS: is it possible to change colors? or is that in the dash itself?
Also, you'll be able to find most of your burned-out panel bulbs fairly easily. When they burn up, they tend to get a grey "smoked" look to them, with a grey film inside. Anyway, I hope that this helps.
If you use a tool to do it, I'd recommend nothing larger than household tweezers, to prevent the use of too much torque. I've got to replace my high beam indicator bulb. When I do that, I'll be sure to get some detailed photos for a video here of the 2005 A/T. Thank you, ajchien! :)
When removing your instrument panel bezel, be sure to lower the tilt steering column first, then just gently unclip it and (if you have an automatic transmission) swing it up and to the right to get it over the stick. Avoid prying any of the dashboard's plastic parts with tools, you should be able to remove them with your fingers. When removing and installing the bulbs, turn them very gently, to avoid damaging the circuit board. They only require about 1/4 turn to seat them.
The most common bulbs behind the instrument cluster are $4 and change at the Honda dealership. I just replaced a few on my 2005 CR-V EX. There are 7-8 of the most common bulb back there, plus one unique one and 7-8 very tiny bulbs which make up the automatic transmission's shift indicator light "tree" (should you have an automatic).
I tried looking for the K7S10 bulb you show in the video... I cannot find it... is there another part number I should be looking for? I tried ebay and nothing so far.
I looked all around for a replacement bulb. There is a sylvania #74 bulb aftermarket that works, but does not really fit into the sockets completely right. I went and got the bulbs with the sockets at the dealership.
I just bought a 2003 CR-V and only the right side of the dash lights work. Are there only two bulbs that light up the speedo, tach, gas and temp gauges? This is a great video!
I have to be honest, its been so long since Ive looked back there, I dont remember how many lights are back there. i do think there are more than 2...
I'll fix my broken globe in my Honda CRV Sports Dashboard Gear Selector (Neutral) as soon as I get my car back from the Smash Repairers after SOME BITCH Rear Ended and shunted me into a fucking TAXI...

With the help of this video, replacing a bulb took only 15 minutes. The dealer had quoted 85 bucks with labor. The bulb cost $4.

@happydude77 It's the USC SoCal VoCals, a collegiate acapella group. You can find their songs and albums on iTunes. Or search for their website.

@happydude77 The original song by Styx is better.

Yes, it is possible to change the colors of the bulbs. I have not done it. But if you make a general google search, you should find some DIY links.

Honda Part# 35505-SA5-003
Genuine Honda SOCKET ASSY., BULB (14V 1.4W)
Is the same as Sylvania #74 (14V 1.4W)
the bulb is a little fatter & was hard to twist in by hand, I used a pair of needle nose & they twisted right in.
