It is an earlier 09 so I got more of a discount. I can drive a manual but the deal on this car was too good to pass up. The base G5 with manual was only 750 dollars less! GM discount and the cash for clunkers program $4,500 for my GMC safari AWD was a steal!

Heres my review... i had a cobalt coupe (same thing as a g5) Lets just say that was the last GM product ill ever own. What a piece of shit... and they wonder why there going out of business. ok as someone who has a fully customized G5 (not GT) i will tell you some of what this guy says makes sense but he underemphasizes some major aspects such as the fact that the motor is biger = more power... and for someone who references the manual he did not mention that the car senses the rate @ which u accelerate and if u acelerate hard the shift light will not come on until about 5000RPMs which equals more power faster aceleration but worse as millage to some ppl going fast is more important

If neither of you have raced the opposing car, then shut the hell up. However, stands to reason that the Cobalt SS has 260 hp as opposed to the Civic's 197 hp. Calculate in that the Cobalt has a 5 spd instead of the Honda's 6 spd and you have less time shifting gears, which also aids.

However, the argument can be made that the Cobalt SS has the advantage of a Turbo. Different categories, so Civic man don't get your panties in a wad and Cobalt SS guy, yeah, it's faster, but it has Turbo.

Well, I have a Chevy Cobalt 2007 Sedan . It runs good , good gas mileage. No trouble so far.. I don't think there is any thing special in Corolla 2007 , although Honda Civic and Accord are far better than all American cars and Toyota as well.. G5 is not that good to drive.. More over there is no point in selling cars that look alike ( G5 and Cobalt ) ... GM is blamed for poor interior design in cars like cobalt ..... well U shouldnt expect aby better in a car that costs 14K USD ..

lol thats right but if your broke you dont care, its your only option. i have the cobalt ss sc and it has a decent interior...heated 2 tone leather, xm radio, boost gauge is always fun, nice stereo, beautiful exterior with 18 inch rims, all for $15000. not bad for a first car i'd say. my drivers ed car was a base model civic (comparable to the base balt) it was garbage absolute fucking garbage, u would squeal the tires off the line and then it would take a dump and go nowhere, power was aweful.

The Civic is a good car, but it looks like a door stop and its one of if not the most expensive vehicles in the class.
