the parts where the characters run are actually done pretty well there. And from 1:26 - 1:29 Skeletor looks really good!

Yeah, these cartoons do have a certain charm. Western (American, Canadian, European) Cartoons today have everyone snapping at each other or scoring humor by the supposedly "friend" characters putting each other down with insults.

Only cartoons today that have the heroes working together and supporting each other is the stuff coming out of Japan. I can't help but wonder whether that's why I like a lot of the anime/manga so much.

These cartoons where far more "commercial" then at any other time imo Transformers,G.i Joe,Heman,She Ra, TMNT, ECT ECT where all marketed at kids with adverts for toys on all the time in the morning timeslots this crazy marketing is what killed transformers imo after gen 1 they went overkill with too many lines of toys give me Prime,Jazz, the dinobots megatron ect anytime over stuff like Optimus Primal and other crap that came later.
