new subscriber, good info. something I may suggest is why not put the tape on the top of the filter, enough thickness so it doesn't go all the through but still be able to pull it up or down instead of the side. Just an idea :)
Karl, brilliant idea to use the INSULTING tape on the filters but have you considered using something like red or orange as they would be far easier to see in running streams, especially at about £80 a shot. Thanks for these brilliant entertaining vids.
I bought a Cokin 70* ND filter after seeing this but the one Karl uses in this clip looks twice the height of the ones in high street camera shops so the gradient effect looks far more flexible.
I'm assuming the polarizing filter is "circular" ? If so...how do you rotate it while keeping the GND at the correct angle to your subject/horizon? Thanks!
I think they are lee filter with the lee filter adapter holding system, but what grades strengths are the ND graduated filter is it a soft graduated or a hard graduated. Also I know Karl has just a plain graduated filter and what grade strength is that?
@DanKPhotography They are made by Lee, sold at most reputable camera shops. Finding them is the issue though, typically they are always on back order due to the high demand.
I spy a digital back in the background. Tasty.

nice i want filters like that. where can i purchase them? is there a certain brand you prefer?
leio94 7 months ago
Best brands are Lee or Hitech filters.
The downside is that they are very easy to scratch.
Way way way superior to the Cokin filters.

I am using Nikkor 12-24mm and 70-200mm f2.8 VR. Which series of filter should I go for to avoid vignetting at wide open at 12mm?
