  • Hey dude. Great stuff! I have actually been trying to transcribe this piece for mallets as well. I came across this and it is exactly what i have been going for. If you still have the sheets and wouldn't mind sending them to me could you? It would really help me out. Thanks! And keep up the good work.

  • WERES THE HEAVY BIT DAWWW!!!

  • @Mrflashdrive Yeah, I really wanted to include that part. But I just couldn't figure out how to make it work with marimbas and vibes. It sounded silly and weak without the distortion, and if I just let the guitar and bass handle it, all the percussionists would just be standing around looking lame during the hardest part, so I nixed it. But I tried to make up for it by extending the awesome Funk jam under the improvised guitar solo our guitarist did.

  • haha, this is brilliant! props to everyone who performed, never thought it could be done like this, and so well at that ;)

  • hloy shit thats they high school i would be going to

  • no. blues does not go here.

  • @KiodFox Blues?

  • @SeanUNT i just kinda felt like the solo was unnatural and too bluesy sounding, but t i=think i was just calling everything bluesy when i said that.

  • @KiodFox Well the bassline and chords were what was already written by An Endless Sporadic, I just repeated it several times to make it longer because I love that part. I would call the bassline more Funk than Blues though, and Chris' guitar solo was very Prog to me, but those labels are always kind of vague.

  • @SeanUNT I really liked it overall nice arrangement (I 'm not really into the musical terms so i will just say it sounded great)

  • Why the fuck cant i have a cool highschool like this?....... >:(

  • LOL Cody fucked up, hilarious

  • This was only three years ago, crazy.

  • man, props to the drummer. he didn't overpower the band even once. but at the same time, it made it seem less...full...?

  • @MayerEO Thanks, I really was trying to stay under the marimbas, which was tough, and lots of people have criticized me for not playing with more energy, but if I did it would have been a cacophony in that auditorium. I agree that my kit doesn't sound clear or full on this, but that's mostly because none of my drums are miked so you can barely hear the bass drum, and people are used to hearing drums miked. Plus the original is an electronic drumset, so big difference there.

  • this is a great video, it's like the 5th time I watched it and it never gets old. A great thing your doing for you students I'm sure they really appreciate it .

  • >.> Are they seriously using electric xylophones? (sees guitarist in the back) Oh... -_-

  • some softcore porn music right there!

  • I say the basest and guitarist should've been up front and behind everyone else -_-

  • @54785236951 How can they be up front and behind everyone else at the same time? :) If you meant you thought they should have been in front of everyone else, I purposefully put them behind the percussion instruments to highlight the mallet parts, since it was a percussion concert. They're both awesome players though, and playing crazy hard parts, so I think they still got noticed.

  • @SeanUNT Sorry. My iPhone was being retarded and tried correcting my sentence :P

  • @54785236951 I'll take it you're not a percussionist... -_- Typical guitarist attitude.

  • @KonguAwesome I say this because they are behind everyone and people can barely see them :3

I'm really sorry if I offended you :'(

If it helps, I play both drums and guitar :D

  • Haha gotta love that drummer!

  • @Datselguf2 Thanks! A lot of people have bashed me for not playing with more energy or passion, but I was going more for accuracy than showmanship, and trying to not steel any spotlight from my students. Glad you liked it.

  • virgin nerds fill the room lmao

  • @u2berz I hope they were virgins, as most of them were around 16...

  • @SeanUNT

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • dude u gotta give me tabs for the bass!!

  • this is honestly too sick...

  • Holy shit. That is all.

  • NICE!! Love it!

  • @SeanUNT i thought it sounded amazing :D

  • This is amazing! I wish there was as much talent as that where I live!

  • this is so beastt

  • @severedlegs What part? If you're talking about the extended guitar solo, it's the same riff that's in the original, just expanded and then our guitarist improvised over that. Otherwise it's a not-for-note transcription. You should read video descriptions before posting. Thanks for enjoying it though.

  • This is the shit!

  • thank you for the upload. worth watching:)./

  • fuckin epic i get the chills watching this

  • oh my god, that was incredible. definitely need to do more Endless Sporadic. who wrote the charts for this piece?????

  • impressive :)

  • Dude, you need to do "Anything" by this band. I worked at Neversoft for a while doing QA on Guitar Hero: World Tour, and the drummer for that band works at Neversoft.

  • seeing this live would've been SOOO epic

  • Excellent job! =]

  • SO FILTHY

  • Very very very good job !! I love it !! woow !

and the guitarist is amazing !!!

(Oh ! there is Ozzy osbourne on the left at 4:11 xD)

  • This might quite possibly be the best thing I've ever heard.

  • very impressive!! loved it!!

  • wait, many of the solos 2 isnt even close to right :O

i guess you fifnt even try to copy the solos correctly??

  • @Barkilax what part are you talking about, give me a timecode. If you're talking about 2:20, that's an improvised guitar solo, which I mention in the description. Everything else is transcribed note-for-note from the original, and we played very few mistakes, so I don't know what you're talking about. I transcribed every solo perfectly.

  • @SeanUNT yeah thats the one i was talking about, sorry , I usualy read the descrpition but it was so long on this video so i didnt bother reading the whole this time

  • @Barkilax That's OK. I just loved that bass riff so much that I wanted to expand that section, and the guitarist I used is an awesome improviser. But besides that added solo, everything else is definitely there.

  • epic!

  • That is awesoome!!! So good :D *-*

  • really awesome!

  • hah. the lead instrument should have been a steel pan. THAT would have rocked.

  • @worldrummer That would have sounded cool paired with the guitar and vibes on the melody! I play tenor pan actually, and played with the Silver Stars in Trinidad last year when we won Panorama. Check out the rehearsal vid I have if you haven't already.

  • look at popcorn head lol

  • i dont know, it sounds kinda strange. but still cool.

  • Flat amazing. The song...the group. Just badness all around. Guitar player is killer.

  • Great arrangement!! Great playing!! I love Snarky Puppy by the way :D

  • just fuckawsum!<33

  • This is AMAZING

  • bravissimi !!! :D

  • thats kick ass man love it

  • I love it!

  • ooo men this is awesome

  • Oh lawds how awesome

  • OMG!!!!!!i love it!!!i am going to ask my band director to let us play this!!!!!this sounds AWESOME!!!!!Great Job on the Band man!!!!! <3

  • Well then you must think the drummer for AES is shitty, since I transcribed and played his part note-for-note, without a single mistake. You're just not used to hearing live drums with no mics, so it's hard to hear my snare and bass clearly and loudly, so I admit the overall drum sound is a bit muddy. Also, I was purposefully trying to play low and reserved to not cover up the mallet instruments, which are the focus. Ask a qualified musician if I was shitty, and I think they will disagree.

  • wow this is better then jesus

  • Thats amazing! Good job to all who participated!

  • I wish we could play something like this in my school band class. Its pretty sweet.

  • I LOVE the sound of marimbas and vibraphones and all the other ones together. :D

  • Hey man, i wanted to know if there was anyway i could get ahold of the impulse arrangement you posted. i was just thinking about how cool it would be to play an endless sporadic show (because they are one of my favorite bands) with my schools percussion ensemble.

    please let me know

    thanks

  • I think it would have been cooler with a xylophone playing the lead not the guitar.

  • I disagree. Even though I love all aspects of percussion, I'd say the xylophone is my least favorite percussion sound. It would have made this sound totally rinky-tink instead of modern and smooth. The only time I ever like xylo is for classical, ragtime, or drum corp/drumline.

  • This is amazing for a high school band!

  • Very awesome mate, this is my favourite song of any guitar hero. No idea why they didn't include it in greatest hits -- maybe they thought it would alienate people with its weird vibe.

  • That was...amazing...

  • this is really good!

  • Been working on converting this song for gh5's custom song app recently, found your video in the process. This is a very nice arrangement of the song :)

  • guitar player has a sweet beard.

  • DAM!!!!

  • this is....INCREDIBLE!!

  • freaking awesome sounds exactlly the same

  • wow thats amazing

  • That was awesome

  • cris mcqueen in oso closo is just amazing

  • the audio is completely awesome. I love that the guitar solo was improvised and not copied, that's really cool. Only this is I think you guys need to unbutton those collared shirts a bit and enjoy the song. I get that it's a written piece but let the song get to you. Just look a bit stiff.

  • awsome is all i got to say

  • Impressive!

  • q es esto?? rock progresivo contemporaneo??? q cosa mas buena!

  • i never imagined it was done like this

  • genious

  • vale verga al guitarrista casi ni se lo ve

  • Thats hot! lol very good :)

  • Who knew, Billy Mays could play the guitar.

  • This is really incridible! The song has a very complicated rhythem and I think you pulled it of very very nice. And I like the extended part, in the original song it's really too short! The marimbas are awesome too, and the guitarist is amazing!

  • where can i get the music to this?

  • is that billy mays on guitar?

  • no, Billy Mays is dead =(

  • not when this vid was filmed

  • he was when austin posted that comment >_>

  • whoa!

  • wow! nice job u guys! id say u guys r talented!

  • Any possible way that I can get a copy of your scores for this and bohemian? I would be grateful to have my percussion ensemble play these arrangements...

  • Is the bass player a guy or girl?

  • Aww, Brandon is a guy. He's just a big hippie. Hopefully he doesn't read this, but you can make it up to him by subscribing to my channel maybe, haha. :)

  • lol I was just wondering because in the info it said a guys name but it looked like a girl.lol.

  • xd.. is guy definitely

  • @Chonch51 maybe if you read the description and saw the name Brandon, you would have thought, "hey thats a guys name." sweet cover. guitar hero fan myself

  • @ThePercussionHero Well unlike you I don't believe everything I read. Oh and hey last time I checked there are retarded ass parents that name their girl with a guys name and visa versa. For instance Billy, Kelly.etc...

  • @Chonch51 you find a girl named Brandon and maybe i will agree with you but you might want to spend that time trying to come up with a comeback after your search fails

  • OWNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • whoa thats pretty awesome

  • Thanks man! If you'd like to see more of my arrangements, would you subscribe? I have some others you might enjoy.

  • wicked O_O

  • hey great cover man, hey would you mind telling me where you found the bass tabs to this song

  • I actually transcribed all of the parts by ear. Internet tabs are all wrong anyway.

  • your last name is redman. cool

  • the first 7 seconds sounds like some reich shit

  • Haha, yeah, I can kinda see that. I played his Nagoya Marimbas for my Senior recital. I might post it someday, such an awesome piece.

  • i think this is like a totally razzamatazztic arrangement! i love this song!

and i played bells in middle school band

i could only play one part of this song though =/

  • wow, that's pretty fucking extremely super duper mad cool. seriously.

  • Haha, thanks! I think that's the best compliment I've gotten so far.

  • Denton? im from allen....

  • Thanks fritz. Yeah, when I do arrangements I find it more enjoyable and challenging to try to recreate the awesomeness of the original as close as possible, since that's usually hard to achieve if you're working with great music. It may not be as creative, but it's just my style. Check out my other videos, like Bohemian Rhapsody, and you'll see what I mean. Or better yet, subscribe if you like!

  • pure awesomeness :D

  • I was expecting a poor quality video but this is purely amazing. great stuff guys keep it up. :)

  • Thanks SleekParrot. I know, there's a lot of stuff on Youtube where I can't believe people weren't too embarrassed to post it with how bad it is. I pride myself on only uploading my best work, so would you subscribe? Then you can see a lot more (in my opinion) good quality music videos if you're interested. Thanks!

  • I think i will :) I think that the way this rendition of the song is played adds a great amount of depth to it very enjoyable to listen too :)

  • Hey man great job, ive been trying to learn this song on drums and need a little help. i cant figure out what the time signatures are near the middle of the song. i think you guys altered it at that part but i was just wondering if u knew what it was in the original song. thanks

  • Are you talking about the insane breakdown part that I cut out? Can you read music? I transcribed the entire drumset part note-for-note except for the part I left out, and can send it as a PDF if you PM me your email.

Everything from the beginning until 3:54 on this video is in 4/4 at 200 bpm. Then the guitar fill is out of time, and it comes back in 4/4 again at 3:59. From 3:59 to 4:18 it's 3 bars of 4/4, 1 bar of 2/4. 3 bars of 4/4, 1 bar of 7/8. 3 bars of 4/4, 1 bar of 2/4. 4/4 to the end.

  • Oh and the last big figure at the end is 9 counts total, so a bar of 4/4 and then a bar of 5/4.

Actually I just realized when AES plays it, the guitar fill that sounds out of time before the crazy part is exactly 3 measures long at the same tempo if you keep a metronome running.

As for the crazy part I left out, I'll post my analysis on that video so you can click on the times. Go check it out, it's the one with the blue water drop screen you've seen. Oh, and would you subscribe? :)

  • OH MY GOSH!!!

    That was so cool!

    :DD

  • the best cover of this song i've ever HEARD!!!!!!

  • Wow, thanks cudizzle! Granted the only other covers I've seen are just 1 guitarist, haha, but still, thanks!

  • awsome! I love this song, and the group rocks!

  • Thanks Foti! These kids were all great players for sure. Subscribe if you want to see more.

  • holy crap whoever arranged that has a hell of an ear cause all the damn tabs and sheet music I find sucks.

  • Thanks ljl922! Actually I have perfect pitch, so it did help a lot. And whenever I was having trouble hearing a part clearly, I would actually go into my GH3 game's practice mode, and not play one part and just listen to the other part by itself, haha. I agree though, most of the TAB you find on the internet is terrible.

  • holy crap thats cool!

  • Thanks man. Subscribe if you'd like to see more good arrangements!

  • One of the Marimba players looks like brendon urie of panic at the disco

  • that was pretty amazing, but you guys should lose the guitar, cuz i thought that was the point.

  • Yeah, I debated about that, but I decided I didn't have enough marimbas or players to get the aggressive sound in the melody that I wanted, and to also be able to compete with the drumset/bass volume-wise. If I had had 5 more marimbas, I probably could have left the guitar out. Thanks though, subscribe if you want for more good arrangements!

  • wow ... really cool, and looks hard

  • Thanks! Yes, it was definitely hard, but worth all the work it to to arrange and play. Would you subscribe for more percussion vids and arrangements?

  • The song is about love :)

  • Hmm, I don't know about that, but doing this arrangement was definitely about love for me! Subscribe for more!

  • Well, if you listen, its about what happens during love. The intro is the quirky, akward meeting of the lovers, the calmer parts are the parts when the lovers truly love eachother, an the violent parts are when the fight and break up.

  • That's an interesting interpretation. I have a music degree, and I would have just said the song is about being a total badass and melting faces, haha.

  • sounds about 2 dudes who are fucking amazing cause thats all AES is lol

  • Woah this sounds so awesome dude NICE JOB!

  • Thanks, glad you liked it!

  • Awesome doesn't even begin to describe this. It must have been an absolute blast to play, and an absolute bear to transcribe.

And that guitarist! It's not often that you hear young guitarists playing the changes that tastefully.

    Bravo!

  • Thanks PhatTrumpet. It was a blast to play, but it wasn't as hard to transcribe as I thought it would be. I had played it about a billion times on GH3, so I could sing every part by memory before I even sat down to write it out, haha. My other videos, Vix 9 and Bohemian Rhapsody were actually a lot harder to get down.

The guitarist isn't that young, heh. He's Chris McQueen from Oso Closo and UNT jazz, a friend that I hired. I was playing drumset as well, but the rest of the players are in HS

  • freaky nerds its ment to be played on guitar!! sound bad but pretty nice ..?

  • Freaky nerds? Everyone else seems to think this is pretty cool. So you're saying guitar pieces should never be covered by other instruments? Go tell that to the other thousands of different instrument covers on Youtube then. Don't you realize that there's a guitar in this group too?

And how can something sound bad and nice at the same time? Your comment doesn't make sense.

  • 5:05 ....the hell, everyone just...froze...

    LOL

    Anyways, awesome arrangement, really nice!

  • That was for dramatic effect, and to make sure everyone focused on the claves and woodblock awesome ending. Most classical musicians freeze at the end of a piece until the reverb in the room dies out, so people don't start clapping too soon and ruin the last chord.

Thanks man, glad you liked it. Subscribe if you want to see more!

  • this is one of my favorite songs on Gh3.. loved this video. everything was perfect. 5/5

  • My favorite too. Thanks man!

  • Omg that was the best thing ever! :D

  • Thanks Appollochan, subscribe for more!

  • xD

just beyond words in terms of awesomeness...

  • Thanks man, subscribe if you want to see more good stuff!

  • Dude! That was so ill! keep up the good work!

  • Thanks man! Subscribe for more good stuff on the way!

  • HOLY EFFING SHIZ.

Dude.. Thats amazing. Did you write the music?

    Im a percussionist too. CypressHS.

    I love it.. Haha.

  • Well, I arranged it for these instruments, but the duo An Endless Sporadic wrote/recorded the original version of course. Glad you liked it, thanks!

  • just a little advice about miking the instruments...have u guys ever tried hanging them UNDER the marumba's \vibes. At our school we use two mike for marumba's(top\bottom end) and one for vibes.

  • We did have mics under the marimbas, 2 for each. Can't you see the boom stands in front of them? Our sound system wasn't the best though, and we didn't have many mics, so it didn't help as much as I'd hoped. I think the vibes cut through pretty well, but the cool 5 octave marimba parts did get lost a bit unfortunately. I had to seriously underplay the drumset part (see comments below) and even then it was hard to hear them. We just needed more people and more instruments, of which we had neither
