@MinecaftGamer i know it happened to me 2. u can take it off by starting recording then when u r playing in the game.do not record in the game menu only when u get to game.

there is better program to capture gameplay it is called dxtory.

Camtasia can not record DirectX or OpenGL, running a game in screen mode does work.

config.cfg (this is for single player)

config_mp.cfg (this is for multiplayer)

open which one you want or both with notepad and look for:

seta r_fullscreen "1"

and change it to seta r_fullscreen "0"

That's atleast how a friend of me does it.

i was able to record Starcraft 2 on Camtasia 7. all i had to do is make run on windows full screen and it started to record the whole game. bit laggy, but still it works = D

ok first of all you should kno that camtasia studios is meant to record the desktop NOT pc games or videos. If you want to record pc games then use fraps....

@khuram855 i got it working for starcraft 2 when i change the game settings to windows full screen. I'm now using the camtasia version 7. it seems to work better now with video casting my game.

Run it in a window, then set the graphics to 640x480 or as low as possible then record the game like that. it works for me... and get the camtasia studio losless codec.

Camtasia will only record games in windowed mode. Use fraps for full screen gaming. I wouldnt recondmend camtasia for video game use anyway. Only for desktop use

The answer to this is easy... PLAY IT IN WINDOWED XD, Camtasia isnt made to record fullscreen, but if you run the game windowed it works fine

It works on all cod games.

Thats weird camtasia works for me. Go look at my videos i did those with camtasia 6. Oh and if your looking for something to compress your video files try using Windows Movie Maker, thats what i use, google "How to Compress video files with Windows Movie maker" Hope this helps

The only thing is the recorded videos of your gameplay are HUGE.. I'm sure there is a way to compress the video but as of right now I cat find a way..

i try recording a game . I use Dophine emulator to run wii games, but recording them is very laggy. I have to upgrade my cpu to Intel Quad Q9650 to get better results or something.

same problem here.. now i don't have any such as MW2 for PC but when I try recording my N64 emulator it is VERY laggy.. It may be that my computer isn't fast enough but I honestly don't think that Camtasia Studio is suited to recording games or videos.. but hey, I'm no computer wizard so at of the end of the day it's just an opinion from somebody who isn't very computer.. lol.

ps.. if you found out what was wrong could tell me how you fixed it?

@pussylicker24 hopefullly someone out there has a remedy. I think the emulators you need it to record on Dvix. You can do by downloading the dvix codec and in the record option you can change how camtasia is encrypting the video.

thanks for the info.. but I think I found something to record gameplay.. it is called "fraps".. I just downloaded it & try it with " 007 Goldeneye" & "GTA - San Andreas" it works pretty well.. only thing is that when your playing the gameplay can be a little slow but I guess if you have a powerful computer or pretty powerful one there shouldn't be any problems... possibly..
