For example, an English speaking pilot will be spoken to in English. A Spanish speaking pilot will also be spoken to in English. But a French speaking pilot will be spoken to in French. Please read the ICAO regulations before posting bullshit.

It isn't a argentinian "privilege". Here in Brazil the same occurs very often. But I guess that in Argentina airspace it is a few worse than here. When I fly to EZE, the ATC english is terrible and confused. Sometimes is easiest for us, brazilians, speak a few of our poor spanish to make sure that their instructions given to us was correct in english. Controllers with barely english shouldn't get the radio anymore.

Actually the english language is very important. For one, it is the official language of aviation, whether your a pilot or air traffic controller. Spanish is my first language, and i find english to be much easier.
Actually, English is not 'te official language'. ICAO dtermines 5 'official languages': English, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. Any of those 5 are official languages. Then, it is stated that english would be taken as the language if you don't speak the local language, as an standard. 95% of argentine ATC's is not fluent in english.

Jesus, local ATC should know their airfield like the back of their hand! No excuse! I like to think they know what they're doing, but stay on your toes pilots. If you ever hear anything you don't feel is safe for ANY reason, don't hesitate to say "Unable!". I was once cleared into position and hold with another aircraft on a one mile final.

Es muy grave no tener un buen ATC pero también es grave no tener instrumental. Es navegar a ojo. Y si hay nubes no sé, hay que idear una estrategia.

Yep, a lighting striked one of the radars so it was out of order for 5 days or so. Is working now, and is always good to know that argentinean news always say the true about whats goin on.

DME Arcs are a piece of cake. Try an NDB approach down to minimums w/ a vacum failure! That will get you chicks! I agree, that controller should be fired! And in Europe non-english speaking countries learn British English, not american english. No wonder why the AF crew had an English accent. Doesn't mean they are British.
I know what ILS does. I was referring to the ATC guy's earlier comment - he says "I don't know why he (Air France) couldn't land". ILS wasn't operative on that runway but ATC says yeah there is ILS, of course, the pilot will go around. Read carefully before you respond, will ya? I was referring to the ATC comment not Air France pilot...

Actually the english language is very important. For one, it is the official language of aviation, whether your a pilot or air traffic controller. Spanish is my first language, and i find english to be much easier.

Actually, English is not 'te official language'. ICAO dtermines 5 'official languages': English, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. Any of those 5 are official languages. Then, it is stated that english would be taken as the language if you don't speak the local language, as an standard. 95% of argentine ATC's is not fluent in english.

Jesus, local ATC should know their airfield like the back of their hand! No excuse! I like to think they know what they're doing, but stay on your toes pilots. If you ever hear anything you don't feel is safe for ANY reason, don't hesitate to say "Unable!". I was once cleared into position and hold with another aircraft on a one mile final.

Si el ATC fuera bueno podría ayudar bastante pero acá se ve que no es así y encima tampoco hay equipos funcionando. En definitiva eso de aeropuerto sólo tiene la pista.

Está bien lo que hizo el piloto. Intentó orientarse con lo que le dijeron que había y no pudo hacerlo. Pregunta de nuevo y le confirman que no funciona. Cómo es posible? Si le habían dicho que funcionaba. Le mintieron, intencional o no intencionalmente pero fue una mentira que comprometía la vida de muchas personas. Es muy grave no tener un buen ATC pero también es grave no tener instrumental. Es navegar a ojo. Y si hay nubes no sé, hay que idear una estrategia.

hahahahaha, i live in Argentina, here the law does not exist, i know that what you are saying is true, but maybe the controller fucks with his boss or something like that, and that is enough to pass the exam, But fortunately, in my country there are a lot of people like me, people who study, people who respect law.
btw, did you see the video where a rocket almost destroy an aircraft? (in Argentina, air force was making some "testings" and almost destroy a plane, lol omfg)

This has made my blood run cold. No ICAO state should be allowed to employ controllers who can't even speak ICAO English. I wonder if he could even read the NOTAM about the unservicable ILS. ICAO needs to have the power to do something but they don't which is very sad.

DME Arcs are a piece of cake. Try an NDB approach down to minimums w/ a vacum failure! That will get you chicks! I agree, that controller should be fired! And in Europe non-english speaking countries learn British English, not american english. No wonder why the AF crew had an English accent. Doesn't mean they are British.

I know what ILS does. I was referring to the ATC guy's earlier comment - he says "I don't know why he (Air France) couldn't land". ILS wasn't operative on that runway but ATC says yeah there is ILS, of course, the pilot will go around. Read carefully before you respond, will ya? I was referring to the ATC comment not Air France pilot...
