I love Moyesy and wouldn't swap him for anyone, but his reaction at the end of this is Rafaesque and petty, despite forewarnings on the line of questioning. You're better than that Davey.
how was moyes supposed to respond to such a ridiculous question? if other managers too the same method with the media maybe the ridiculous questions would stop.
he's a cheeky boy is moyes, he actually shows emotion unlike the other crappy managers of the prem. he's the only manager not obsessed with money in the prem aswell. it's all about the spirit of football with moyesy.
He took it too far imo, ignore the questions you dont want to answer but dont be a dick about answering perfectly fine ones. He acted like the reporter just insulted him.
Dead right Moyesy - obviously been a little bit of a bust up but as the old idiom goes "less said soonest mended". Best team spirit in the country which money can't buy and no press busybodies will be allowed to drive a wedge into that.
Press should concentrate on the real issues in football anyways, eg the fairer distribution of its wealth rather than standing by and watching the rich get richer. But then again the Mirror shed off any socialist principals years ago.
There was a similar incident involving Gordon Strachan this season and both mangers handled it the only way poss. really. Its a shame because all reporters get branded the same way.
Unfortunately, when you're presented with an idiot member of the press thinking the guidelines for questioning don't apply to him, you can either sit silent o tell them where to go. Neither look good on the manager which is why they ask such nonsense; even if they can't get a scoop on Anichebe, they'll try to prompt a negative response to spin about the whole situation. That's how some members of the press earn a living. Thankfully, some of them actually like football.
Not really - but typical of the press to try to emphasise the negative when it comes to EFC - they were asked not to ask about it btw which is common in these conferences.
you all do realise that the press were prepped before that interview and they were told , not to ask about the Anichebe situation, the fella he looks to on his right is his press officer , and if you watch it again he looks at him as if to say " is he joking I thought you had sorted this "
those who understand need no explanation , those who don't... don't matter !
Forget the fact that the reporter was told he could only have one question on Victor. The rest of his questions were pish poor - check out the one about Dan Gosling.
Spot on DM. If you don't know the history of the pre-interview then Moyes told the interviewers one question about Anichebe. He answered everything that was asked of him then the interviewer stepped over the line, he didn't give a load of expletives like Joe Kinnear he simply made a point that if you want to get a story then I'm not going to answer any more of your questions, the guy was digging for a scandal that isn't there and he was cut off short and sharp.
Good skill to turn the Gerrard question round... if the hacks have been asked to give one question only on Anichebe, then one it will be... unlike the fat spanish waiter this man has principles...
moyes is god.

I'm not an Everton fan but well done Moyes.
Lets hope more managers stand up to these media idiots.
The media are making a joke of the game!
Endless mindless analysis and sensationalism.
Its embarrassing to see and hear.
Watch ESPN classics and listen to the commentary, sensible, informative and pitched just right.
No Andy Gray constantly talking and talking and drowning out the atmosphere.
No adverts just as the crowd reach a crescendo to welcome the teams. Pathetic!

Anichebe is a fool, why fight the coach & managers.
Anichebe should be grateful to be getting paid thousands a week just to kick a ball around. people nowadays are losing jobs

very true but i can understand, he was the only recognised stiker in the squad and moyes stuck him on the wing
