this is the same theory as a bed of nails... ...the pressure is spread out across the length of the blade. IF he were to put a sharpened nail against his stomach instead and the guy swung the hammer at it, then chi master would end up with a nail in his body.

you puch the edge sharp part to ur skin and that will absorb the pressure by let say 85% and then if u hammered it ... it will increase to 90% but with no effect !

You are correct, friction in blades is what makes them slice more efficiently. With that said, if the blade is sharp enough, all it needs is some force. Why do you think that swords can chop off an arm? They don't slice the arm with some friction, they just commit a forceful blow with the blade. You saw the sharpness of the blade in this video. Are you a non-believer? Then lets see a youtube video of you doing the same demonstration.
