I remember driving by there and I was like WTF? I was there when the fire just started and I saw pieces faling off the building, pretty creepy.

I flew into Vegas at the exact same time this fire was going. It was AMAZING to see from the air. I had no idea what was going on. I thought it was a new show or something. Glad everyone was ok.

They let them go back just to get there items. Not sure but I think it was the next day. People that could not stay around and had to leave had their items mailed to them.

If the hotel would have burned for 1 more hour it could have collapsed perfectly into the pool. This would have given us a reason for the war on prostiution and carelss welders.

Reports have said that it was some subcontractors welding up on the roof. They started the fire, tried to put it out with a hose and could not and ran off. That is what has been reported to us.

I had just walked out of a class and I could see a huge stream of smoke coming from the Monte Carlo. Everbody at UNLV was just standing around campus watching the fire... crazy...
