It aint mate, i think @Deathbringer just made it up, i have been listening to drum and bass/ jungle since it started- there aint no such thing as darkstep. Subgenres of d&b&jungle------techstep/hards­tep/choppage/drumfunk/liquid/i­nteligent/ragga jungle. There is a subgenre called Darkcore, but that is from way way back when some hardcore became really dark then split off and became jungle. Examples of which can be found on youtube, Scottie&Johnny are probably the best examples.
