@alvanwel Actually the pianist is superbly in time with the violinist -- pretty well every chord is in exact sync, which given the nice rubato of the soloist speaks of good rehearsal and/or good musical instincts. Many other great recordings aren't so closely synced.

Well, this is my favourite violin piece which no one does right in my opinion:) But, apart of Spivakov, this would be the interpretation of my choice. A little too little emotions and too clear and concentred sound, I would say:)

Probably not completely. But most Russian teachers train their students to keep their eyes on their bows... so that involves looking down most of the time:-)
