the unspoken king isn't that kinda suck album, i think it is pretty good, love the clean vocals,and the growls and stuff, but this douchebag shows only the clean parts of the album, while matt can do other things.

@AndresMetalSubtitula The latest album - Is what they play Deathcore? Or is it mixed and mastered like a Deathcore album? Much like the predicament with Metallica and St Anger - the album sounded a lot better live because it was mixed to fit in with the rest of the live set. I found the same to be true with The Unspoken King - live it was a completely different sounding beast, and Matt was phenomenal live- just as good at the old stuff as previous vocalists technically speaking.
Matt has evolved into one sick professional deathmetal beast. Outstanding performance at Brutal Assault 2011. The next Cryptopsy album is gonna be fucking EPIC. Mark my words.

Wait till the new album to judge wether or not they should have kept the Cryptopsy name. Matt was doing those songs the way he was told to do them by Alex Auburn and Flo Mounier. Flo I think has recovered his passion for extreme metal by playing with Nader Sadek, and is getting all the more melodic stuff he likes out of his system in another side band. Alex is no longer in Cryptopsy. If you watch any of the recent live stuff with Matt, its actually pretty good.
It would make lots of sense to change the band name for their deathcore album ... at least from marketing point of view ... but I disagree with comments that Matt is responsible for the stylistic change ... and TUK is definitely not worse than anything on the deathcore scene ... anyways ... Jon Levasseur is back with Cryptopsy, Matt can do deathmetal vocals and Cryptopsy have hear loud and clear that fans don't like deathcore ... so what is everyone fucking crying about? wait for the new album!

I miss Lord Worm's insanity, i miss Jon's maddening riffs, and Flo, as good as he is, can't carry the band all by himself.

Cryptopsy tuvo su tiempo brutal, donde su mejor disco vio a la luz (None So Vile)... alcanzaron la cúspide en cuanto al género se refiere e intentar imitar su éxito sería sólo caer en el fracaso o estancarse en la monotonía. Simplemente tuvieron que evolucionar; cambiaron de sonido, género, temática y ahora atraen a otro tipo de público. Aunque hayan cambiado, ese disco ya pasó a la historia y, no importa lo que hagan, ya son una leyenda y se ganaron el reconocimiento que merecen.
evidentemente es cuestion de gustos, pero se me hace que tendrias que alguna vez tener una banda como para criticar y saber que la musica va mutando (como los x-men).
cryptopsy es y sera una banda de death metal... y una de mis favoritas, no me desilusiono para nada su cambio radical. pero se me hace que tendrias que buscar un trabajo en ves de comparar, compara siempre esta mal.

Lord worm is of course a legends, his grunt like vocals are the one - of - a kind and really fits the oldies. I just mean that aside from the studio recording of the latest album, Cryptopsy has barely changed. I thought matt sucked at first, but he seems to have learned a new technique

@AndresMetalSubtitula The latest album - Is what they play Deathcore? Or is it mixed and mastered like a Deathcore album? Much like the predicament with Metallica and St Anger - the album sounded a lot better live because it was mixed to fit in with the rest of the live set. I found the same to be true with The Unspoken King - live it was a completely different sounding beast, and Matt was phenomenal live- just as good at the old stuff as previous vocalists technically speaking.

old cryptopsy = my favourite death metal band of all ages much cause of all the creativity.
new cryptopsy = not even cryptopsy to me anymore.
i dont understand how the decition to make cryptopsy a "metalcore" band even came through. most commersial musicians wish they could play like cryptopsy did back then but were forced to play the rubbish they did. cryptopsy had their loyal fans and as far as i know were doing very good with the awesomeness they did.

Wait till the new album to judge wether or not they should have kept the Cryptopsy name. Matt was doing those songs the way he was told to do them by Alex Auburn and Flo Mounier. Flo I think has recovered his passion for extreme metal by playing with Nader Sadek, and is getting all the more melodic stuff he likes out of his system in another side band. Alex is no longer in Cryptopsy. If you watch any of the recent live stuff with Matt, its actually pretty good.

It would make lots of sense to change the band name for their deathcore album ... at least from marketing point of view ... but I disagree with comments that Matt is responsible for the stylistic change ... and TUK is definitely not worse than anything on the deathcore scene ... anyways ... Jon Levasseur is back with Cryptopsy, Matt can do deathmetal vocals and Cryptopsy have hear loud and clear that fans don't like deathcore ... so what is everyone fucking crying about? wait for the new album!

In all fairness, The Unspoken King is much better than any of their old stuff in my opinion, because Lord Worm was a bog standard sounding vocalist.
You could pull any randomer off the street and make them sound as poor as Lord Worm did.

"Evolution of their sound" my ass, the band sounds so soulless now. I'm not gonna try and conform them to some genre label and call them "fake" for changing, they are what they are, but i do know that their old music still makes my jaw drop, while listening to The Unspoken King felt like a chore i had to go through, just so i wouldn't bash them without a damn good reason. I miss Lord Worm's insanity, i miss Jon's maddening riffs, and Flo, as good as he is, can't carry the band all by himself.

Cryptopsy tuvo su tiempo brutal, donde su mejor disco vio a la luz (None So Vile)... alcanzaron la cúspide en cuanto al género se refiere e intentar imitar su éxito sería sólo caer en el fracaso o estancarse en la monotonía. Simplemente tuvieron que evolucionar; cambiaron de sonido, género, temática y ahora atraen a otro tipo de público. Aunque hayan cambiado, ese disco ya pasó a la historia y, no importa lo que hagan, ya son una leyenda y se ganaron el reconocimiento que merecen.

cryptopsy es y sera una banda de death metal... y una de mis favoritas, no me desilusiono para nada su cambio radical. pero se me hace que tendrias que buscar un trabajo en ves de comparar, compara siempre esta mal.
