Some guy I worked next to listened to KOST 103.5 all day long, which is exactly like this....f$%king horrible. If I heard that song Rock the Boat , If I Can't Have You or any other song from the Saturday Night Fever or Greece soundtrack, I was going to kill somebody.
I told him he either turn it way down, or I'm going to listen to death metal (Slayer, Venom, Cannibal Corpse, Celtic Frost, etc) all day. I gave the guy a sample, he complied...
I thought he said Donny DeFranco. I replayed it to hear it again. Too funny. You know we all would love nothing more than to hear every hit, by say...Phil Collins, Madonna and Billy Joel all day long every day. Could you throw in some Genesis for a change of pace every once in a while! Geesh.
From the lakefront, SC Johnson corporate headquarters (interior), US Bank tower, Norwestern Mutual Life building, Calatrava Art Museum, Mitchell Park Domes, Bradley Center, Allen Bradley Clock Tower, to everything except the space shuttle, how could Dan O'Day could be fooled into thinking this was from a station in the Netherlands? The Mix actually the 1 station Clear Channel doesn't own here. I enjoyed it.
I agree. Dan O'day has some scathing comments to "not say" about this. Yeah great variety, THREE ARTISTS! woo hoo. Sack the clown that made this ahnd demand your money back.
LOL, I should have commented on this months ago...Funny thing is my station #'s are 98.3 and we are the best variety of the 80's90's and Today...but I think whats even funnier as an inside joke when we'll throw in coming up Billy Joel, Madonna & Phil Collins...too funny....they should make a country one like my buddy said 7 months ago
Very funny, especially for radio folk! However, I do think it could have been summed up in less than a minute. After a while it's like, "OK, we get it. Phil Collins, Billy Joel and Madonna!"
Oh My God that's so funny! "You all; can suck my ass?" Brilliant! How do you come up with such hilarious commentary? Are you a comedy writer? Novelist? Bathroom stall garffiti-ist? It's so dry, so witty, so full of Noel Coward-like charm! Suck your ass, indeed. Touche', my learned friend.
Looks like this was shot in Milwaukee, home of the first "Mix" station in the country. There are Milwaukee landmarks in the background like the US Bank and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
Here in Holland, Europe, we have the same 'variety radio' crap! But here it is Phil Collins, Celine Dion and Tina Turner (plus the same 3 Dutch artists for the 'variety)!

So lame it's freakin' hilarious! Just shows how unimaginative those suits who run radio really are, and then some.

Great! Love the characters. Love the naming the same three lame artists. Love the parting shot at Clear Channel, or as I call it, the Evil Empire.
