@beatsoul60 I can't tell you anything about Cat Stevens. I don't know anything about what he takes on or gives up. I just love that he created this beautiful song.
when peace turns to hatred through islamic muslim conversion
people remember Cat Stevens fondly as the singer of "Peace Train" "Moonshadow" songs of love and peace in the 1970s and early 1980s. It is hard to equate Cat Stevens with Yusef Islam, while still an artist of considerable talent, wants to kill people out of religious frenzy not just Salman Rushdie but Cat said that he is agreeable to stoning women to death for adultery.
That has no doubt broken the hearts of millions of women
@demigoduriah, I guess I haven't taken the time to promote it? I'm writing a book so my time has been going into pouring words into pages. But thank you so much. Maybe I'll take the time. I love this place. It's my salvation.
Thank you so much for your response. I love Lake Cowichan. I grew up there and the forests are beautiful. I have only rediscovered Cat Steven's music as of the last two years. I grew up in the sixties, however never had a record collection. I don't live in Lake Cowichan anymore. Actually this forest is near my apartment in the lower mainland. But it is beautiful and inspiring none the less. Be blessed.
Cat Stevens has always been a great man of peace. :o) I visited Lake Cowitchin (never could spell it right)in 1990. Back then, it was a beautiful place with very little forest removed. I sure hope it is still intact. It was one of my favorite places on Earth. The geese did not want me to leave... i fed them 6 loaves of whole wheat bread every morning and evening...1000's of them. I hope to return with my children one day. *****
Tell me -- has Steven Demetre Georgiou (Cat Stevens), given up all of his Greek heritage? Very confusing.
