Its a bit tricky but you can actually complete advanced 14 with that jumping-to-the-elevator trick.

In chamber 15, there is a kind of a glitch, if you step on the edge of one portal and not fass into goo, you can shoot another portal (which must be the same color as the one you stepped in) so you are kind a in the middle of two portals. That should save you a lot of time dealing with moving pads. Somebody has posted it on youtube, search under challenges with least portals.

Actually on chamber 14 I have put a portal on the ground BESIDE the elevator (at an angle) and jumped through on and advanced, it's much quicker.

i accidentally made the cube fall into the death pit in Chamber 13, and GLaDoS told me i just imprisoned myself in that chamber, so when she opened the complimentary lift, it considered me as finishing the mission. Is this a glitch?

no its a feature built in on the off chance u do get stuck, on the 360 version theres an achievement for it

On Chambers 14 and 15 there are quicker methods, 14 put a portal in front of the elevator, then where the top of the stairs are, then when the stairs go down, put a portal where they were, 15 is more complex, if you do it right you can glide through the deadly water area without having to activate the lift. it takes keen portal placement and jumping.

ON 14 there is another way:

-Make a portal on the wall above the starting elevator.

-Run up the stairs

-Jump while moving forward and make a portal where you are about to land

-Crouch when you are through and there you go

It's in 'options' in the menu, and with it on, you are automatically directed into your portal when you are falling into it.

Yeah, haven't had such a refreshing change in gaming in ages. The cheeky humor, the brain teasing, are all a welcomed change of pace.

Anyhow, Stage 13 on Advanced was jarring at first, because the regular game was so easy. Turning the floor into goo was jarring at first, but I beat all the Advanced lvls, just took forever.

I personally didn't even think about standing on the button and shooting a portal out the door at the beginning of 13. Now I can probably get 19 secs on Timed. XD

Is it just me or did the font and the sterile environment remind you of the VR missions from Metal Gear Solid 1+2? Kojima could learn something from this... I personally would love it even more if MGS4 had VR missions like these.

I think that's actually the regular chamber, rather than the advanced. Doing the advanced in 8 seconds is virtually impossible.

There is, but it's the normal chamber, with the floor as concrete, rather than the floor being goo. He could probably shave some time off it, but 8 seconds is pushing it a bit.

you can beat level 14 by putting a portal in front of the lift, walking to the top of the stairs, letting the stairs retract, shooting a portal where the stairs used to be, jumping through it, and getting enough momentum to make it on top of the lift

In the second level shown in this video, the developer commentary itself gives away the speedy solution to this stage.

Place a portal on the floor near the exit elevator, walk up the stairs, and when the stairs collapse, shoot a portal down into the well and launch yourself up onto the exit elevator.

i get the impression you think these aren't advanced versions of the chambers, so I should be doing the elevator fling on chamber 14 etc (which isn't possible in advanced).

as I say, links please :) not that i dont doubt there's quicker ways to do them, but I do doubt the 'very slow' part and the lack of any details.

Some people just don't get it, this and your second video were great. It's been out for only a few days and I'm sure there is little room for improvement which can be made on your run. Some of the advanced stuff is so hit and miss that you're nearly almost forced to take ages.
