  • Anons voice???

  • So why are we suppose to wear it on our left hand not our right?

  • All I've learned was the middle finder represents yourself. Fuck yourself.

  • What does it mean if I separated them?

  • Oh brother

  • Interesting

  • Hahahahaha the middle finger means ur self so ur saying f*ck me

  • Im going to create a belief before i check out

  • I tried supper hard and i seperated them :D

  • funny explanation heheh

  • If the wedding ring symbolizes not to separate... then why can the parent's separate? The parents could be married as well

  • @3ashbob It's them being separated from yourself, not eachother.

  • @3ashbob they can separate because they are not ment to stay with YOU... not stay with each other...

  • @3ashbob It is you the subject of separation, not them :) I mean you leave them one day or another.

  • nice its cool!!!

  • This is awesome!!!!!!!!

  • ooohhhh!!!!!! my!!!!!!!!!!! its beautiful......very interesting and convincing.......awesome

  • aha... now i know.... :)

  • whats it mean when your daughter takes yore wedding ring and wont give it back,a what

  • fascinating

  • Yeah but if you separate your kids far enough (little finger) then it is possible to get away from your partner :D (ring finger)

  • Is it true? Yes it is. I've just try it. Cool!

  • i really thought this was a prank when voice over said the middle finger represents urself :P

  • once you are more independent, you can straighten yourself up (middle finger), then you got divorced.

  • Do you need to marry here rockmycity.info

  • thats nice and all but, i was always told that the reason you wear it on you're left ring finger is because that finger supposedly has a vein that goes all the way up your arm and connects to you're heart, which is coincidently a little more to the left side of your chest.....not sure how true it is, but it'd be pretty cool if it was.

  • Oh diz is cool...

  • so true....:)

  • I can seperate it fine, without much strain.

  • This is just superstition. The reason why you can't seperate your 4th finger is because when you put your middle finger together in that position, your 4th finger's joint can't move due to pressure being applied on the 3rd.

  • @ChaosRevenger It is how you look at things which matters. This is not superstition.

  • What if you don't have siblings? What would the 2ND finger represent (-_-)

  • @xxxdeviliciousxxx

Erm, thats too bad then. I guess, your grandparents. :D

  • Interesting point of fiew

  • @marmaee I read something about it on the left, the left ring finger has a vein that goes straight to your heart, something like that. You can google it, I found it a couple years back. I dont remember the exact wording, but it was along those lines.

  • awwww, so sweet. too bad about 50% of marriages end in divorce. now a cock ring. u be careful with that

  • Aww that's so cute :D

  • ..why the wedding ring was worn in the left ring finger and not in the right?

  • awwwwww so cute

  • oa...

  • haha i tried it before, and i can possibly separate my ring fingers (:

  • Beautiful.

  • You can't separate them because the ring finger doesn't have its own set of muscles

  • u have a nice fingers :)

  • alasan kenaa cincin kawin dipasang di jari manisssssss, inilahpenjelasanyaaaaaa

  • also God said man and wife must be together forever!!

  • Oh that's why!. :)

  • This is stupid

  • whoa

  • wow yeah so thats why!

  • nice explication!!

  • what is the purpose of wearings rings in the 1st place...can the couple be husband and wife without the ring being in between them? is wearing the ring religious thing or cultural in christianity if yes..why do atheists wear it 2

  • @saifulah1303 It is not just a Christian thing. This was as the video stated, a Chinese explanation. We developed the ring-finger habit as a sign of commitment in multiple cultures, and it just stuck as social heritage within the world culture. Nothing to do with God, atheists, or the LGBT community. :)

  • @demujen Um, Romans believed there was a vein in that finger that connected directly to your heart. Most cultures have developed from that.

  • thats really cool

  • is that apply to both gender?

  • If the middle finger represent me, why I got to put myself down?

  • @ZEVCIEL not so much putting yourself down ...just acknowledging your now part of a couple a partnership...if you didnt "bring yourself down" you would be self-centered and there isnt room for that in any relationship

  • well, its immposs\ible because i heard maybe a week ago that your pinky finger and ring finger are joined together by the same muscle

  • not how you speel (er) spell Impossible, moron

  • thats a cute reason... i love it <3

  • now it's posible

  • great job

  • i dnt car wat they really mean whoever made this video got plenty kids lol

  • i believe !!!!

  • the only reason the fourth finger is hard to seperate is cos the siblings finger is down...lol..

CONCLUSION: If you have ur siblings around, ur marriage wil not work

  • no, the thumb is your parents, index finger is your siblings, middle finger is yourself (you cant seperate yourself so thats why its down.) fourth is partner, and little finger is your children.

  • i can seperate them, i just have to force it, glide one over the other.. i guess thats a divorce, forceful seperation...lol.

  • haha.. lol.. maybe..

  • hahaha wow its so frustrating to try to get your fingers to seperate lmaoo

  • @cheriisechaantal2008 i know i was there cursing them to open lol anyways i love it, and its so true great video

  • bollocks, i can move my fourth fingers still. i got major muscle.

  • its bs, cuz i can seperate my 4th fingers, and i believe im not the only one...

  • OMG I HAVE ADD I CANNOT FOLLOW THIS /CRY

  • The true answer is because the old Christian marriage ceremonies had a clause which has now been removed. It said "hold up your hands. In the power of the Father (thumb), Son (Index), and Holy Ghost (Middle), I now pronounce you man and wife. (Ring goes on ring finger)

    Hope I was informative :D

  • I am sure this is not meant to be an absolute scientific or historical documentary. It's only an illustration of the importance of marriage. Whether it's factual, natural or contrived, some people may find this interesting, and maybe even cute. Why, then demonstrate such animosity toward the video. If it's bunk to you, so be it. If you liked it, so be it.

  • i can move my ring fingers, does that mean i should divorce my wife asap?

  • LOL

    i could too

does that mean im never gna get married?

    lol

  • Yes, it means you should divorce your wife and marry a man.

If your move your ring fingers...that's a sure sign of anticipated male anal stimulation.

  • hahahahahaha bastid

  • I have to say it was very intresting. I liked it. meaningless, I think not. beauty or value is in the eye of the beholder.

  • In many cultures today (orthodox Jews), it is not the left hand but the right, and in many ancient cultures like the Gauls, it was the middle finger not the fourth, or more recently the thumb... anyway, we already know that EACH finger has digital veins (volar and dorsal) which drain into a a venous plexus at the wrist, and thence upwards through the arm...!

  • actually, tradition has it that the practice was brought to Rome in the 3rd century BC, when it was believed that a vein that led directly to the heart, the vena amoris, originated in the fourth finger although in actual fact, rings of betrothal are not documented in the Roman literature until the 2nd Century AD!

  • Aw, that's so cute. You honestly can't separate your ring fingers. Absolutely adorable. :) ♥

  • @DemonGirl565 I can seperate them when someone will intervene.

  • @DemonGirl565 I know isn't it, Demon Girl?

  • I figured it was so it wouldnt get in the way of giving the shocker. My bad.

  • In an ancient book I own, it states the ring finger is the only digit possessing a vein that runs directly to the heart. And that is the reason an eternity band is placed on the fourth finger. I don't know medically if it's true, but it's what the book states.

  • Really sorry, folks, but this sounds like old wives' tales to me. Can anybody produce historical information showing that the choice of the 4th finger for the wedding band was influenced by Chinese custom or philosophy? If not, why are we listening to this?

What makes the thumbs our parents? Why aren't the index fingers parents? Why aren't the smallest fingers ourselves? What makes the ring finger our spouse? These are completely arbitrary, and meaningless.

    It's completely bunk.

  • actually it doesnt matter who represents what, because the metaphor still works as long as the ring finger represents the spouse, you retard. The order comes with the order of things. Parents are first, then they have kids. The middle finger is yourself because in order for this thingy to work, ur middle finger has to be tucked in. The pinky is ur children for obvious reasons. It's because they're usually smaller than their parents.

  • The point, of course, was to observe that the assignment of fingers is completely arbitrary, and therefore the analogy is manufactured and not natural. You could count from the pinkie back to the thumb, for instance -- and your "obvious reasons" for calling the last finger "children" would still hold, the thumb is shorter than the other fingers.

Your use of the word "retard" says much more about you than it says about me. Perhaps you should omit it next time. Self-restraint is a virtue.

  • well think of the fingers generation wise. the thumb tends to be the thickest of the fingers meaning its the oldest ( so the parents would get that finger), the next 3 fingers are roughly the same size so they are the next generation. lastly the pinky is the thinnest of all the fingers so that is the youngest generation.

yes the video may be "arbitrary", but it is not "meaningless" because somewhere there will be someone that attaches meaning to something. nothing is truelly meaningless.
