It makes it a country that permits the irresversible physical abuse of mutilation of children without their informed consent. Laws mandating hijabs for women are less abusive.
Basically there is a 'benefit' so to speak, but it is vague and accomplishable through other means. The benefit is 'cleanliness' in that it makes it easier to clean and removes a dark environment that bacteria grows.
Cleaning would do this without surgery though. It is tantamount to removing your lips to avoid getting cavities. Technically it does make cleaning easier, and the environment isn't good for the bacteria that normally lives there... but it also leads to suffering and lack of nerve.
I don't really think this is the issue. Most guys would have no problem doing this. Children do not wash instinctively though, so I think it is more like they are paranoid about having to teach them how to wash because it might be viewed as too sexual.

There's also non-surgical foreskin restoration by skin expansion which can grow a new foreskin over the course of 12 to 36 months depending on the person. Any skin, when put under moderate & constant tension, will develop spaces between the existing skin cells, the body will fill new skin cells into. As the skin cells divide and replicate during mitosis, new permanent skin cells come forth = new skin is grown. Pulling the shaft skin over the head and holding it there over time = new foreskin.
Yes, I've even considered this for myself. However new nerve endings will never grow back, so while it aesthetically looks and functions like an uncircumcised penis (except for the ridge and the scar tissue, most people would not notice) the sensation is permanently lost.

I suppose the argument is that there can be dirt build-up if there is phimosis,which is the natural condition up to some people's teens. But in the case of childhood "phimosis" which is the natural condition that circ-doctors believe to be pathological,the foreskin is tightly 'glued' to the glans so I don't know how anything could accumulate there.
I was only able to retract my foreskin when I was maybe 14 years old. I had not thought of that and I thought it was forever supposed to be that way,and it was almost shocking when it happened. Letting water fall down on one's organ is cleaning enough. For as long as the skin is attached,it requires violence and a lot of pain to clean under it. And even when it retracts naturally,it is still unnecessary to clean from under.
Yeah, I don't see how anything could make its way past the skin unless you're regularly dipping your wang in dirt or sand.
At the same time though, it's not good to take any risks, so if foreskin tends to naturally retract with most males when they're in their teens, than I should perhaps look into some alternative methods available (natural retraction at the age of 22 is wishful thinking).

Circumcision is an <600 million dollar industry in the U.S., hospitals make money off of selling foreskins to research facilities for experiments that they prefer to use human flesh for, as well as using the genetic material to grow more human skin and such. Actually, most of the time phimosis is not at all a serious issue. I know several men who have phimosis, are genitally intact, and don't even consider circumcision an option. The use of a simple topical steroid cream and gentle stretching solves the vast majority of phimosis cases. Many men with phimosis can perform sexually anyhow and feel no need for circumcision.
*Ultimately* it is the parents decision because no one is stopping them, and unfortunately many make uneducated or incorrect "informed" decisions, mostly based on esthetics. go foreskin go!

Notice how the interviewer uses the words "exploit" the province paying for the surgery. Its not exploitation it should be our rights to have a foreskin. its also bullshit that they mention its ultimately a parents choice, wtf. Basically there is a 'benefit' so to speak, but it is vague and accomplishable through other means. The benefit is 'cleanliness' in that it makes it easier to clean and removes a dark environment that bacteria grows.
Cleaning would do this without surgery though. It is tantamount to removing your lips to avoid getting cavities. Technically it does make cleaning easier, and the environment isn't good for the bacteria that normally lives there... but it also leads to suffering and lack of nerve.

I don't really think this is the issue. Most guys would have no problem doing this. Children do not wash instinctively though, so I think it is more like they are paranoid about having to teach them how to wash because it might be viewed as too sexual.

And later, in adulthood, it it usually easily treated with gentle stretching and possibly steroid cream. In fact, no condition requires circumcision other than a rare balinitis which has caused scarring to the foreskin or frostbite. Doctors are good at scaring people with claims of "possible harm". And people being good sheep that we are, believe them too often.

There's also non-surgical foreskin restoration by skin expansion which can grow a new foreskin over the course of 12 to 36 months depending on the person. Any skin, when put under moderate & constant tension, will develop spaces between the existing skin cells, the body will fill new skin cells into. As the skin cells divide and replicate during mitosis, new permanent skin cells come forth = new skin is grown. Pulling the shaft skin over the head and holding it there over time = new foreskin.

Yes, I've even considered this for myself. However new nerve endings will never grow back, so while it aesthetically looks and functions like an uncircumcised penis (except for the ridge and the scar tissue, most people would not notice) the sensation is permanently lost.

No one has the right to cut off any part of someone else's genitals without that person's competent, fully informed consent. Since it is the infant who must bear the consequences, circumcision violates his legal rights both to refuse treatment and to seek alternative treatmen. An infant is obviously too young to consent to anything. He must be protected from anyone who would take advantage of his defenselessness.

I suppose the argument is that there can be dirt build-up if there is phimosis,which is the natural condition up to some people's teens. But in the case of childhood "phimosis" which is the natural condition that circ-doctors believe to be pathological,the foreskin is tightly 'glued' to the glans so I don't know how anything could accumulate there.

I was only able to retract my foreskin when I was maybe 14 years old. I had not thought of that and I thought it was forever supposed to be that way,and it was almost shocking when it happened. Letting water fall down on one's organ is cleaning enough. For as long as the skin is attached,it requires violence and a lot of pain to clean under it. And even when it retracts naturally,it is still unnecessary to clean from under.

Yeah, I don't see how anything could make its way past the skin unless you're regularly dipping your wang in dirt or sand.
At the same time though, it's not good to take any risks, so if foreskin tends to naturally retract with most males when they're in their teens, than I should perhaps look into some alternative methods available (natural retraction at the age of 22 is wishful thinking).
I'm just too damn uncomfortable bringing this up with anyone I know, let alone a medic.

I've known several men with phimosis who function sexually and have had no need of medical treatment for their condition. Actually, most of the time phimosis is not at all a serious issue. I know several men who have phimosis, are genitally intact, and don't even consider circumcision an option. The use of a simple topical steroid cream and gentle stretching solves the vast majority of phimosis cases. Many men with phimosis can perform sexually anyhow and feel no need for circumcision.

Foreskin restoration works (yes you can grow it back, or at least most of what it was) but is infinitly more difficult than just leaving a perfect baby whole as God intended, he didn't srew up the design.

Yes, circumcision should most definetly be banned-for men and women. Unfortunately, with the latest push by pro-circumcision groups that male circumcision prevents the spread of HIV (like how circumcision prevented masturbation, bed-wetting & blindness) playing right into people's deepest fear, it makes it that much more difficult to illegalize this barbaric & misinformed practice.

If people want to do it, fine. But don't force it on somebody. That isn't fair. There are no medical benefits except for a few statistically rare situations. Cleaning requires normal hygiene. Circumcision is bullshit unless the person wants it. It shouldn't matter if there is truly no sensation loss or not.

Circumcision is not beneficial at all. It should be treated as amputation. You get an arm amputated only if you can't save it at all from something like a fatal disease (necrosis).
90% of pleasure is lost. I can't feel my penis at all, it's because of my circumcision as a baby, as diagnosed by many doctors.
