  • Adiamus - Enya

  • @MARKROYO thx!!!!!

  • LINDAS FOTOS, MARAVILHOSAS!!!

  • yea same, the one at the ROM is awsome i wanna the largest wingspan in the world in a view that does it justice

  • i would definately like to see one of these compared to a familiar object so i could see its mightyness

  • these birds can grow as big as a bus, they only come to land to mate and hatch there chicks

  • someone told me these birds can fly for five years without touching land, i find that extremely hard to believe

has anyone heard of these birds being able to do anything like that, or any bird for that matter??

  • They land mostly on the water. To eat and sleep. Although they can nap while they fly, they do prefer to sleep on the surface. But they definitely can't stay airborne for five years without landing at all.

  • Obviously not true, they have to sleep and rest like any living creature.

  • @Skycrusher Very true but they can sleep and rest on the wing. These magnificent animals have the ability (as do flamingoes) to put half their brain to sleep while the other half stays awake. Flamingoes take it further... half their whole body goes to sleep (when you see them standing on one leg, the side of the body with the leg up is actually asleep) Truely amazing creatures!!! :-)
