They land mostly on the water. To eat and sleep. Although they can nap while they fly, they do prefer to sleep on the surface. But they definitely can't stay airborne for five years without landing at all.
@Skycrusher Very true but they can sleep and rest on the wing. These magnificent animals have the ability (as do flamingoes) to put half their brain to sleep while the other half stays awake. Flamingoes take it further... half their whole body goes to sleep (when you see them standing on one leg, the side of the body with the leg up is actually asleep) Truely amazing creatures!!! :-)

@BUMBLEBEEYEAR3 Wandering Albatross can grow up 3.5 mts wings spreed, Real Albatross 3 mts and Brown Eyed Albatross 2.5 mts. All them are big birds.

someone told me these birds can fly for five years without touching land, i find that extremely hard to believe
