If you listen to buckets slower albums its not so much "fretboard gymnastics." im 100% blown away by buckets skills in speed, emotion, versitiliy, and creativity. Slash just doesnt do that for me. I personally admire Buckethead because his persona as performer is "I'm not a rock star, i just wanna play my guitar" he's not searching for major attention (i mean the guy wears a freakin mask on stage). i definaly think buckethead is better. he has more creativity than slash and more guitar skill. buckethead has a peice of music were he uses harmonics the whole through it and some of his trills would be killers. he must practice for at least like 10hours a day or something because those trills would absalutly enilalate the fingers. i also think slash would be better off as a soloist i mean guns'n'roses and velvot revolver were holding back he true talent.

When people compare Slash to Buckethead they forget one thing. Slash wrote most of the Kick ass riffs and solos in the GNR songs that buckethead plays. 99 % of the population would not know who buckethead is if it weren't for Slash. If you listen to buckets slower albums its not so much "fretboard gymnastics." im 100% blown away by buckets skills in speed, emotion, versitiliy, and creativity. Slash just doesnt do that for me. Check out "Gory head stump" by buckethead. its amazing

i definaly think buckethead is better. he has more creativity than slash and more guitar skill. buckethead has a peice of music were he uses harmonics the whole through it and some of his trills would be killers. he must practice for at least like 10hours a day or something because those trills would absalutly enilalate the fingers. i also think slash would be better off as a soloist i mean guns'n'roses and velvot revolver were holding back he true talent.

@eggnoy BH may have creativity, but he's not nearly as influential as Slash. BH may be technically more skilled and faster on the fretboard, but he doesn't hold a candle to Slash's accomplishments. Just b/c I can play any Zeppelin song doesn't mean I am as good as Jimmy Page. It isn't what you can play, but if what you create will appeal. In general Slash appeals and BH much less. you should be carefull anyway, cause every one of his CD have a differnet style,
compare Between Colma or Electric Tears with The Cuckoo Clocks From Hell, i like them all, but some people only like slow, others fast, others heavy or Weird ETC... pm me if you want some guidance or even only a good song to lisen : )

When people compare Slash to Buckethead they forget one thing. Slash wrote most of the Kick ass riffs and solos in the GNR songs that buckethead plays. 99 % of the population would not know who buckethead is if it weren't for Slash. Sure buckethead has talent & can shred like a motherfucker, but his creativity doesn't even compare to that of Slash.

@secanesam, you obviously don't know Bucketheads enormous range of material, particularly the more mellow ambient tracks. Though, Slash follows a more standard rocking style, - good for the sheeple of the world.
